Comment:

Dr. Bhattacharyya knows chemistry like the back of her hand, no doubt about that. However, there may be a slight language barrier due to her thick accent. Lectures are hard to understand as she teaches really fast. Tests are extremely difficult. The material taught in class will not prepare you for the final. Get help outside of class to pass.

Comment:

Dr. Bahattacharyya is a great professor! Lectures are understandable and detailed. Exams are extremely hard so make sure you study up! It is imperative that you attend every lecture because each one builds off of the previous one. If you study, work hard, and go to class you will be golden!

Comment:

She is a really good profesor and takes her time going through each topic so everyone understands what happens and allows you to practice with the material. She curves some of the tests so it is beneficial when some topics are cumulatively missed. Would definitely recommend if you want to learn and get a solid grade in this introductory chem course

I really thought I would enjoy this class, but her teaching style made it so difficult for me. She is extremely intelligent and knows her stuff, but her methods of teaching had no impact on my learning. I struggled throughout this course and really was afraid I wasn't going to pass. She does curve her tests which was a plus.

She is a good professor and really does care about her students and the grade they are receiving. The tests can be challenging but she curves them to where everybody ends up with 20+ points on the exam.

She is a great teacher, the only thing you need the book for is to do hw, it's about 3 hw assignments, its easy just do 10 ?'s from the end of chpts and turn them in after every exam but she gives you a week to do them unless you do them ahead !, class is easy don't need to show up but if you want to pass and understand you should attend class !

Comment:

Dr. Bhattacharyya is a good professor. You sure have to study a lot! Don't expect to get out of class early, not gonna happen. Also, be prepared to write lots of notes, however, her notes are very helpful and if you go over them at home, you should be getting an A in the class. There are 3 quizzes, 3 tests and a national, final exam.

Comment:

Professor knew what she was talking about and could provide help when needed. As long as you followed along in the lectures and read the chapters as an extra guide, you were good. The tests were not terrible, but it is a math intensive course. As long as you study and remember all the formulas, you were fine. She was nice and always prepared.

Does not review for tests. Is very hard to understand. She goes too fast during lectures and acts like it's such a hassle to further clarify or help. Doesn't review for the final which happens to be a national final with a 40% national grade.

Great Professor! She writes out all the notes and goes over everything with you. Then she posts the notes to blackboard for the whole class, BUT DONT MISS CLASS! your grade will suffer! Book not really used b/c her notes are so good (but she does require H.W Q's from the book, so you do need it.) She also curves tests if the class average is low.

Great professor. Took her over the summer for Chem 1211. She writes her notes by hand and takes the time to explain every single concept. Before, I thought there was no way I could ever pass chem with a higher grade than a C, but because of her help I was able to achieve a solid B that I hoped for. She curves tests which saved a lot of our grades.

I took this teacher because of all the good reviews on here. She was a good teacher for about the first month and after that she became so strict and mean. She does give study guilds but after the first one the others don't even help for the tests at all! After all she does make students feel like they're asking stupid question

thanks to her teaching style, there is NOT ONE lesson she presented that i didnt understand. If you come into class ready to learn, youll probably grasp Every. Single. Concept. She teaches. EVERY SINGLE ONE. Without a doubt the best teacher ive had at cod. It was an honor. that being said, each test DID have a lot of material. Space your studies

Chemistry is tough if you have not taken it in a few years, but Professor B. is willing to make sure everyone understands before continuing. Her tests are divided into two parts multiple choice and written. The written portion of the test is all math and she gives partial credit; she will curve the test if everyone does bad; 3 test, quizzes and hw

Comment:

Favorite teacher at College of DuPage so far. She is very understanding and willing to help in any and all areas. I was scared for chemistry but learned more in this class than any other science course! She's very humble and generous with points. Do the study guides, go to class, and ask for more explanation when confused and you'll get an A.

Dr. B. is amazing! You would not go wrong taking her! She explains everything really well. If you study her class notes and study for the test and quizzes you will do awesome! She tries to make chemistry as simple as possible! I really enjoyed her and glad I took her!

You would be doing yourself a disservice if you don't take this class! Dr. B is amazing! I agree with other post, if you didn't do good in the class it's because you didn't study. She truly wants you to do good in the class and is very generous with points when she grades tests and quizzes. She also gives the BEST pep talks! TAKE HER!!

TAKE CHEM WITH HER. She basically babies our class through the content and simplifies it so well. She's patient, helpful, and adorable! I loved her and the class. The only thing is that she writes super fast and it can be hard to keep up with notes but she puts them all online after class anyway! Highly recommend her!

This teacher is the NICEST teacher EVER! She is very understanding of any situation you may have you just have to communicate. The subject is not hard overall as I did not study and still managed to get a B. I did well on the exams except for . She is lenient with late work. She does partial credit. Highly recommend Dr. B!
