He gives homework everyday but it helps you practice. You can't have any kind of material open in class but this helps you to actually learn the material. If you really want to learn the language I suggest him. Make sure you never miss class and you take the extra time to go over what he will be teaching the next day, it will DEFINITELY help!!

Precious little Italian man; however, I do not recommend him as a teacher. You do not learn to form sentences on your own, you memorize scenarios and conversations from the videos and that is what you are tested on. There is a lot of work, and his grading policy is harsh. Don't answer incorrectly or you get a zero for that day!

Really sweet guy and willing to help if you're interested in really learning. Reasonable grader. A lot of work so I wouldn't recommen if you're not interested in really learning the language. I enjoyed his class this semester and I'm taking him for Ital 122.

Great Professor, but it's just not an easy class. He is very helpful, and if you do your assigned work (which is given daily), it's not bad. For the tests, there are hardly any new questions. Just study/memorize the "short situations", "domande sul video," and the grammer sentences. can only miss 4 classes.

He is a really great professor. But he does actually expect you to learn the language. If you truly want to speak Italian I strongly reccomend him but if you are just filling a language req.take something else because there is work due in class everyday and lots of oral participation is required.

The worst professor I've ever had, peroid. I did not find him to be helpful. I've never been into a class where I had to pretty much teach myself Italian. Word to the wise-- avoid this class like the plague.

He is a hard professor. I would only take him if you are interested in learning the italian language. It is a lot of work, but you are forced to learn the material because he takes up everything and grades it. If you are just taking it to fufill your language requirement, then I would take something else.

The class is called ELEMENTARY Italian...and yet, we were just submerged right into the language without any prior knowledge. I think Italian is a beautiful language and I love the culture...but Sr. Di Giacomantonio is soo freakin hard...you can work hard

When you ask for help, he tells you study with other kids, not actually give you help. There's an ass of homework. There's really no help available out of class unless you can afford a tutor. This class killed my GPA. I don't recommend him.
