Comment:
Took him in Fall2016. You don't need to go to his class to get a decent grade. He doesn't take attendance but he often asks difficult/random questions in lecture and gives whoever answer correctly extra credit. You could get a decent grade with his PPT. Exams are relatively fair, if you work hard you should get at least B.

He's retiring, but felt it was necessary to write this anyways. Fewer people attended each session since lectures didn't really help. Learned more from reading the textbook. All test material is based on the textbook and some articles/videos from Blackboard. Some tricky questions on the exams.

Not like this review matters because he's retiring. But if by chance he comes back you need to know not to take his class. He spends lectures off on a tangent talking about nonsense. I'd say that you could skip and just read the textbook to study for tests, but the tests aren't even completely based on the textbook, its a complete guessing game.

I was attending lectures, it was not a mandatory. I've highlighted the parts he said will be on exam, but it turned out that even a half of that material wasn't there. Many people got D on the first exam and were cheating on the 2nd. His lectures are are just his own unorganized thoughts. Feeling scammed

In all fair honesty, if you familiarize yourself with the textbook at a timely pace, his tests are not that difficult. The true/false is what you're most likely going to struggle with, since they're based on his lecture material and some short articles, but they're fair. Needs to create formulated lesson plans, however. He writes 2 words on msword.

Please do not take him. The amount of slides he shows in class is absolutely insane. Unless you are only taking his class during the semester, you'll have a hard time keeping up with the crazy amounts of slides and readings. His teaching style is awful. He should retire and give his job to a more engaging/ sympathetic professor!

Every lecture all he does is talking about his experience. Don't get me wrong, it's cool to learn from experienced person in business. But he gets lost in his own thoughts. He starts talking about one thing and ending up discussing 3 absolutely irrelevant topics. long lectures about the same thing over and over

Do not recommand. I rate him 1 out of 5 because I can't give a zero. He feels like he teaches you everything that relates to business and his own stories can be the best experience. But the reality is you won't get anything and feel free to fail the course if you don't go over the textbook. Awful.

Professor Rosen is one of the more misunderstood professors at Baruch College. His teaching style is not to merely restate information found in the textbook, but to provide relevant examples from his own life. If you just want to pass the class, then yes, I can see where students wouldn't care. But if you want to learn business, Rosen is the man.

If you have any other choice, don't take him. There were 4 tests, all based off the textbook, despite him telling you that his lectures and slides would be enough for the tests. I followed that advice, and got a solid 75 on the first test. Just study the textbooks instead, and you can skip the lectures. Doing this I earned 90+ on the final 2 exams.

Do not take him in any cost. Even if you don't have any choice please do not take him. He doesn't teach anything. Worst professor I have ever come across in Baruch.

The test average was in the 70's for almost every exam. He would not curve the exams and said he would curve it at the end of the semester. No such curve was ever given. The tests were harder then they needed to be he put information he wouldn't even emphasize in class on them.

The worst Prof. and the worst experience i've ever had in baruch. Gives nothing necessary for your exam in his lecture, and always telling you to find a partner when you have questions for him.

First week of class he says the tests are going to be based off the lectures so don't bother buying the textbook. So I'm like aii, i paid attention to his lectures a lot at first. First test comes. Its all from the textbook... I skip class the rest of the semester and just study the textbook chapters od. I barely got an A son. Class avg was a 75.

Prof Rosen is a really good man and is knowledgable. In the beginning I was struggling and met with him, he told me many good study tips and to find a study partner. These helped a lot and he is so caring that he asked me after an exam how it went. Due to his study tips, I improved a lot on the second exam and got an 85!

RUN! Prof. Rosen is by far the worst professor at Baruch. The class average is a 70% and does not realize it is due to his poor teaching style. Most people read the text book and when it comes time for the exam it barely has anything to do with it. His PowerPoint's are horribly explained and he tracks off a lot to speak about other irrelevant stuff

I expected this course to be easy but he explained absolutely nothing in the textbook. Doesn't know how to teach. I had to read and outline textbook to learn this entire course. When u ask for help, he says find a study partner. No HW. Powerpoints are confusing. Doesn't allow ANY electronics. Would not recommend

About him: Prof. Rosen is a good man with a whole life experience of (family) business. He is easy going and has helpful personality. Classes: It includes (story telling) practical life experience, Ted videos and some classic humor videos. (Some boring examples, sorry Prof. Rosen) & no tech allowed. Tests : Just two. No quizzes. No attendance.

In my time at Baruch Barry Rosen was the worst professor I have every had. All he does is talks about himself and puts on videos that don't come up on tests. If you place any value on educating yourself STAY AWAY.
