Such a sweetheart! Honestly the one kindest professors I could ever know. She really cares about her students and is an easy grader. The assignments are easy and she makes you feel really good when you complete them. Don't be shy if you have any questions. Take her! You won't regret it.

I adore her!! Such a sweet angel who wants to see you succeed. I took her class in 2017 and failed because, I had an A until the last 2 weeks when i stopped showing up & didnt take the final. In 2019 I took this course with her again and she was so kind and understanding and actively delighted in my success two years later. A QUEEN

Sweetest woman ever! She cares so much about her students and their success. Understands that students have other work for classes on top of maintaining lives outside school. So helpful with everything. Wish I could take her again! Truly sets you up on a path to pass the class with a good grade. Gives you criticism when you need it. The best!!

she gives 15-20 posting options and you only have to do 10. come in, do the work and you'll be fine. honestly didn't read the homework reading most weeks but she goes over them in the lecture. she wants you to succeed so put in the effort and be nice, she's a sweetheart.

One of the best professors, so sad I can't take her again! As long as you do your work, you will get 10/10 on everything. Simple discussions each week, and an essay every few weeks that only has to four pages (3 in total). I used to hate English, but this was a breeze! She's extremely organized, feedback is thorough, and she's so nice! Take her!

Absolute fave prof I've had my 1st year of college & will probably stay as #1 throughout my academic career. Took a class with her in the Fall by chance & just had to take her again. We wrote 2 papers & even read a short novel in this class, yet it was a breeze when you follow her lead. LOVE her! Plan to take her again & recc to everyone I meet.

Professor Bolan-Kenney is very clear on directions. She made the winter term easy and enjoyable. You had a few reading assignments everyday - 6 discussion posts, 5 quizzes, and 4 journals. And a final paper. All in 9 days. I can imagine her 15 week semester would be a breeze

Bettejane cares for her students so much that you'll forget she's not actually your mom! She made us cupcakes and cookies, always wished us happy holidays and was by far the most joyful professor ever! Gives very helpful feedback on essays. If you take it with a grain of salt, you'll get an A on every paper you write in this class.

Professor Bolan-Kenney is one of the best online teachers I've ever had the pleasure of working with. She is kind, caring, and above all - a great educator. She really pushes her students for their absolute best. Because of her aptitude, I've switched up my schedule to take more classes by her. Would def. recommend.

I really enjoyed her Short Stories winterm class. Lots of opportunities to dig into material, kept me engaged and not bored. Seemed a little scatterbrained, but honestly just passionate and knowledgeable. Assignments were simple and steadily spaced. Easist quizes I've ever taken, she wants you to do well. Would take her classes again.

Taking her class as a winter class. She all over the place and hard to follow. She makes her classes so much longer than they need to be due to her scatter brain. Her directions are also hard to follow due to this as well. Do not recommend.

I took this class thinking it would be an easy A. It wasn't hard, but it wasn't easy. She is a very tough grader and expects a lot. I got a B+ in this class after getting an A in one of the hardest English Classes Brookdale has. Even though she is clear on her grading, I don't think her grading is very fair.

I have never been a reader and this class inspired me to read without being told to. I enjoyed 90% of what we read. Did I mention I don't like readign? She was very helpful and inspirational. Very clear grading criteria. I highly recommend!

She really wants you to succeed. Don't skip because it'll get taken out of your grade. Not to mention that you'll miss whatever went on in class. Just show up, put in the effort, and you'll do fine. Don't be afraid to just write for the first drafts you'll have ample opportunity to edit and receive feedback.
