This professor seemed to be seeking to make life difficult. There are no excused absences, regardless of situation. Same for any late work. He put a lot of effort in to making the class beneficial, and knows the material well. Unfortunately, his strictness prevented any enjoyment of the course.

I love Dr. Davin he is a one of a kind professor who will make jokes in class that are funny and both teach you and help you further yourself in the field. Honestly if you take one upper level science class at berry take him he is amazing!

Dr. Davin made me remember why I decided to major in EVS/BIO in the first place. I had forgotten why in BIO 111 and 202. He's an amazing teacher both in lecture and in lab, is extremely helpful, and still manages to crack pretty hilarious jokes in class. He's not the easiest teacher, but trust me, his classes are worth it.

Dr Davin is a wonderful teacher! He keeps it pretty interesting, and he is easy to understand. Tests are over notes, and they can be tricky but if you study, and actually LEARN the material you will be fine. I loved his class!

Do not recommend. Had him for a few differnt classes. I second the cabbage breath comment... a closet smoker, it's fun to catch him out on the loading dock of the sci building. Hard classes, below average help and clarity. Would recommend other sci professors before him

My favorite professor! He loves EVS and it shows. His tests are not easy and he expects a lot from lab reports, but he is willing to help with anything, in or out of class, and adds humor to even dry subject matter. If you want to learn and have fun at the same time, take his class!

I too hated every minute of this class. I was actually excited about the class, but Dr. Davin does not teach the class in an interesting fashion. Purely lectures with powerpoint; but the labs were actually fun. The tests were harder than any other science class that I've had, and I'm a bio major and chem minor. Attendance is important for grade!

One of my favorite professors. I loved the labs in this class, very original. Not terribly difficult if you pay attention. It is also helpful if you attend class regularly, because he will bumb your grade up if you are borderline.

Great material (pre-meds are crackheads) and great labs. Teaches pretty well, but can sometimes be random with grading and other decisions. Overall good classes. Breath is bad, smells like cabbage, small hands.......

Very helpful if you ask. Labs are lots of fun and really do help understand concepts from lecture. Pre-med people seem to whine about the class all the time and say it's boring, but it's just cause they're not interested.
