Comment:

Dr.Dorey is a very nice man, but he is so confusing. He will lose your graded labs and tests, however, with his tests, that can be a good thing. You will not learn much from him, but if you go to his office, he will try to accommodate you as best as he can. He is a very nice man, just not a good teacher.

the worst teacher i have had in over 15 years.... Do what ever you can not to take his class. When the entire class is struggling you have to know that its not just the students, he is so disorganized he lost several of the classes tests. Do not take this class!!!! He should not be teaching.

this teacher is possibly one of the worst professors. Although it isnt hard to make an A, he was not helpful, left labs to "look for his goggles" but instead would be eating in his office. he is rude and acts like your dumb for asking questions. 4 tests, but if you make an A on final you get an A in the class.

Had to take him because he was the only class open, and it's been horrible. I'm not good at chemistry anyway, but I'm more confused now than I was before. Be prepared to go to tutoring outside of this class.

Comment:

Terrible teacher. Nice man, but I had such a hard time learning from him. I learned a semester's worth of information from a substitute teacher when he was out for surgery for a week, and I'm thankful for that otherwise I would have failed that course. Really nice man, but no substance as a teacher.

Dr. Dorey is a nice man with a good heart, he is just really flighty and confusing. He was always late for class, and when a student asks a question they either get a lot of extra unnecessary information with the answer, or a lot of information with no answer. He was always very understanding and accommodating to his students.

Okay. First of all, the man is very nice and willing to help you but he's the most confusing person ever. He made everyone buy "clickers" to take attendance with. He's like "you'll use them in other classes." No you won't. I changed my major because of this guy. I was failing a class that was supposed to be easy but he made it hard. Don't take him.

This class should be soo much easier than it was... He was out for 4 weeks for surgery and it messed up all the students. He is very smart on this subject but he is way over the heads of students just starting out in chemistry..!! The "Deal"he made on the final was amazing!

HORRIBLE teacher. I thought I had a bad chem teacher in H.S., took Intro to Chem in college for this reason and found out my H.S. teacher wasn't that bad compared to Mr. Dorey III. VERY NICE man, but goofy, scatter-brained. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. His intro to chem. is an easy class made difficult.

Professor Dorey is a nice man, but it's super hard to learn from him. He's VERY nit picky on tests (which are only 10-20 questions most of the time), and gets off on random tangents that have nothing to do with anything. He expects you to know everything about Chem, and moves fast. Willing to help you, but sometimes he just confuses you more!

This guy can NOT teach! I have never had a chemistry class before, and he expected you to know things about chemistry before hand, (even though the class was a INTRO to chemistry--not even chem. yet)! He was a very nice guy just not teaching material. He LOST my test and I went into his office and his whole office was a big pile of MESS!

He doesn't teach very well. Should be a substitute.. not a teacher. His tests are very hard and he counts off for ridiculous things (he's very nit picky). I took chemistry in high school and loved it, but I'm having trouble with his tests. It's easy material but he makes it hard to pass.

OMG where do I start? He is easy to take but you won't learn anything.When I recieved my papers back they were graded "A". when final grades were done he gave me an incomplete HOW? & WHY? good question. I went to him & he changed my grade from an incomplete to "C".I still don't understand that to this day but if you need an easy grade go for it

Do not take him! He switch his lesson plan in the middle of the semester. He is always late, he lost like two of my test, we where only on chapter 2 by the end of the semester but took the final over chapter 1-6 it was so crazy, but he did send a email telling us 3 days before the final, i wish i NEVER would of taken this class.

I have never even seen chemistry prior to this class, and I have an A. All these other entries must be from people who are looking for a free A, because he gave back two out of the three tests to take home. Yeah he talks alot, but so what. I learned all the non-metal/metal elements, scientific notation, and a number of tools needed for Chem 1.
