Oh lordy lord. The worst ARTH prof at Mason. I feel like she thinks she is there to help the university and not teach. She is nice, but doesn't care if you fail. Her exam content is unexpected and she will test you on little details from the book. Do every weekly assignment.work your butt off out of class.. No work hard = no pass class.

You are required to read and summarize weekly readings. She did give out study guides which were so oddly put together and confusing. The class was very interesting though. She just had the most ridiculous exams that were almost fill in the blank rather than essay format or something. take her with other easy classes.

Intended as a course about the influence of Pompeii's rediscovery on Decorative Arts. In reality, it was a way for the professor to sell copies of her book (when another translation was available in the public domain) and avoid talking about decorative arts. She gave 1 Dec arts lecture--because admin forced her. Awful. Worst class in our program.

I found the book that she used to be a problem. Too much information about Roman history. It would show the artwork, but not talk much about it-as to form, color, etc. Architecture was addressed somewhat, but not in any detail. Not really an art class, but not really a history class. She was very informative and nice. If you asked, she would help.

the teacher does ramble, and he lectures are not put together in a clear manner. Furthermore she provides no guidance with studying and basically states that anything learned could be on the test. I would suggest not taking her classes unless you have a strong desire to be independent and rely on yourself to learn the information.

She rambles on and skips around her lecture and her slides are useless. Her tests are obscure questions. The study guides do not help. You will have to have a lot of previous knowledge to do well in her class. Avoid taking her if you can.

This professor tends to ramble for long periods of time (presents material in a random manner). She obviously has a lot of knowledge about her subject but seems to have difficulty presenting it in a clear, concise manner. This did not cause major problems for you as long as you read the course texts thoroughly.

Directly from her syllabus: "A+: rare." What encouragement. Expects you to attend every class while she misses half. Exams focused on the obscure. She reads directly from a paper in front of her and stares out the window the entire lecture. Not prepared. Seems to write exams the night before.

I loved her! Her humor is very dry and it is always a joy to come to class. I think she a an under rated treasure at George Mason. She gives all the answers to quizes and exams before the are given and she is a relatively easy grader. As long as you participate and listen it is an easy A.

she may be brilliant but she's useless as a professor. as an art history major who wants to learn the subject i hated coming to her class. her lectures are fragmented and arbitrary and her teaching style is just so frustrating. try to avoid!

Informative and really knows her stuff about what's really a pretty dry subject. Really have to think in her exams (not just regurgitate facts) and take the time to write well on the essays. If you can't write well, you will have challenges.

After reading all the reviews on this website, I have to say I was scared out of my mind to take her this semester... and I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, her exams are a little tough, but the key is to just write a lot of information for little questions and youll get some bonus points. funny and very intelligent professor!!

I would never recomend anyone to take her class. If you do Good Luck-In Greek Art Class her lectures are useless. She makes up her Exams, n makes them difficult. If i were to rate her amongs other art history teacher I give her an F. She should go back to school to get her Masters Degree again and concentrate on whats important.

I agree with the poster below. She is NOT to be trusted by anyone. This is the same individual who sent $20,000 of art/artifacts UNINSURED,never to be seen again! She treats students the same way. Careless in every sense of the word.

by far the worst class i've ever had. her classes and assignments do not give you the info needed for finals, which are extremely difficult. what she asks for is ridiculous. she seriously expected me to translate a source from german to english with a dictionary for my paper. some scholar- says she only teaches what SHE thinks is important.

Her Exams are extremely difficult. So far I attented every lecture and read the book before taking the exam, however her exams are still diffult. Exams are all in Essay, fill in the Blank, and map questions. So you need to have some previous knowledge of Greek History before registering taking course.

She's brilliant...that's for sure. I studied abroad at Cambridge University UK last year and her books were on a few of my suggested reading lists. However, she's not at all clear on what the students will be tested on.

Tests, Paper, Midterm and Final are insanely difficult. Reviews for exams are worthless, as the material covered is rarely on the test. The lectures weren't bad and proved to be somewhat interesting but did not focus enough attention on the material that ended up in the test. I was seriously bummed out by this course.

Love the subject. The class was a little more about archaeology than art though. The tests were extremely hard. The study guides did not help b/c there was completely different information on the tests. Average class, loved the material, but boring lectures.
