Definitely do not buy the book that she uses for group project purposes, it is expensive, not used entirely, therefore a waste! Sometimes she expects you to present your own analysis on something, but is still hard to satisfy, before the essay, go directly to her and literally ask "What do you want from me exactly?" and come back with a draft

I disliked the fact that we had to work in a group and present to the entire class. She encourages participation, and reading the assigned reading before her class would help understand her lectures. Attend the lectures, do your readings, and you will be fine! Attendance was mandatory when there were presentations only

Cathrine is one of my favourite professors this semester! Her lectures are informative, engaging, and I really enjoy how she loves to have the class debate. I have her next semester and can't wait for the class!

Very very disorganized. so hard to follow. writes random point form notes on board, no power points. draws arrows abbreviations uses bottom of board making it impossible to see, speaks facing board making it impossible to hear. tryed to approach her asking a question about an assignment and she shut me down saying she is too busy.

I also took POLI 200 & 201 with Catherine. I think she is very informative. If you like debating with classmates, take her courses. She is a wonderful moderator and I find her very approachable and helpful. Her lectures may be a little misguided, but let her know and she will accomodate your needs and expectations!

When she asks you a question, don't answer....it's a trap! Or as she'd see it, an opportunity to let you know how off the mark you are. Her overheads are cryptic and confusing. Totally unapproachable. Otherwise, ya, great class.... :-♪

I had this teacher fisrt semester- it was a little hard doing all those readings, but i felt she whent over them all well in class. Shes a cutie and has lots of guest speakers in class to dicuss different opinions. Fun course!

well, i have taken alot of poli sci, and this woman knows her stuff, and engages the class well with lots of debate, but no, i repeat no, classroom management skills. people become loud, don't listen and that reminds me: people when she is talking, shut up for once!
