Comment:

Chad O'Connor was definitely one of the best professors I could have ever hoped to have. While he didn't stand up and lecture frequently, he showed us through the way that we spoke (and the way that he spoke) what to do. He seems to genuinely care about his students too.

Comment:

Best speech teacher. Won't record your speeches, always lets you use some kind of script if you need it and is very understanding- he extended presentation deadlines several times for students in my class. At the same time he actually knows what he is talking about and will help you get better at public speaking. Just the man. Take his class.

Chad makes it more bearable by being funny and laidback, but he's not the easiest grader necessarily. He gives B-'s and B's easily, but to get from a B+ to an A- is tough work. He's picky. Then again, he could be so much harder, and from what I hear, most of the other CC100 teachers are. He may be the best choice! Don't buy the textbook.

He has insane stories he loves to share, which can be entertaining. He doesn't "teach" all that much, but if you're paying attention, you'll pick up on stuff HE does (which I think is the point of his stories, in his mind). He's aware of a lot of current events/issues, and he engages in meaningful conversation about them. He's liberal, so it's okay

I didn't learn too much in this class, but Chad is a good teacher. He's adjunct, laid back, a fair grader, and a nice/funny guy. It's easy but don't think you can slack off. I wish the class had more structure. If you're in the major, If you want to LEARN, I'd say take someone else, though to be fair you do get to keep your debate skills sharp.

its been said but this is the guy you want for this class. consider yourself one of the lucky ones if your****ty speech class in enliightened by this guy. you will sometimes spend class making jokes about current events for an hour. usually lets people go at least 20 minutes early too. awesome professor.

made a really obnoxious class worthwhile and, dare I say it, fun. Manages to be a friend and a teacher flawlessly. the class is easy but not to the point where it feels like a waste of time. Chad is hilarious, definitely take his class or else perish in the banality of public speaking.

Chad made a seemingly useless class very painless. Not in my career as a student have I come accross a teacher that was able to come off as a disciplinary figure and a best friend, without jeopardizing credibility or respect. Brava Chad!

Chad = hilarious, easy to talk to. Not much reading, but when he gave it it mattered. A friend of mine had his OP370 and said the same. Take a class with him. Bright guy - he knows some real Jeopardy****, but makes it useful. And who else would push punk rock and Penn and Teller episodes?!

i would marry him, given the chance. Chad makes himself available outside of the classroom and is VERY understanding to all of his students. the topics of the speeches are interesting and everyone ends up having fun!

chad is amazing. he is extremely funny, understanding and really good to all his students. i've learned a lot in the class and am going to miss it a lot next semester. plus, he sends out a punk rock showlist to us every week...it don't get much cooler.
