Took his online serial murder course. Grades are only based off of 3 exams that he does provide a review for and info comes from the notes, videos, and the textbook. There's an extra credit discussion post at the end of the semester. Overall good course, but you need to do the readings and review if you want to do well. Material is very interesting

Comment:

One XC assignment in the latter of the semester; 3 exams ONLY so do well. Made an A since we conducted on a GroupMe group chat and made a study guide for all of us to participate in. Didn't need textbook on my end and was my 'lax class' for the semester compared to my 4 other classes. Would recommend heavily if you have a tough schedule.

Your grade is only dependent on your 3 exams. He does email you what you need to study though, and the cases you need to review, and exactly what he tells you to study is exactly what you need to study. Its all on the test. Very easy class and interesting class. Enjoy hearing his lectures.

Dr. Winton truly cares about his students. This class consists of two debate halls, two case studies, a policy analysis paper, and a final (written). Two textbooks are required. He lets you chose your own policies to write about which makes the course more interesting. I only wish he taught more graduate courses at UCF. Take him!

The entire class involved lectures and two exams. Having only two graded assignments can be a blessing or a curse. Make sure you read the textbook, listen to the lectures, and are a prepared for the tests. Only one attempt is allowed. His recorded lectures are very informative. Take notes!

I have taken 3 classes with Mark Winton and I wish more were available. He is so amazing and very "chill." His lectures are the best- he posts them all on Youtube & I watch them for fun sometimes because of how awesome the information is. Class consisted of 3 tests that were not difficult. He also sends weekly announcements & truly cares. TAKE HIM

I took Professor Winton for Serial Murder and am taking him again for Criminal Profiling both online. I highly recommend this professor bc he really cares about his students. He posts video lectures and powerpoints for the exam reviews. Read the chapters and watch his lectures and you'll pass easily.

Theres two case studies, a policy analysis paper, two debate halls and a final exam (a paper). You will be writing but fortunately enough he lets you choose what policies you want to write about. The textbook will help you and dont procrastinate on your work. Hes an awesome professor. I will be taking him again next semester

This class intimidated me, but if you read what's expected of you and follow his instructions you can ace this class. He gives great feedback, answered all my annoying emails when I was confused and made this class one of my favorites. Who knew policies could be fun? If you do the work required of you you will pass.

Prof. Winton's online CJE4012 class consists of three 50 Q tests, that's it. He provides resources for free such as power points and YouTube videos he was created himself. You can tell he truly cares about the subject. Book really isn't needed thanks to the resources he already provides.

Dr. Winton is an AMAZING professor. The class is a lot of writing, which should be expected with any graduate course. There are two debate halls, two case studies, one policy analysis paper and a final exam (final exam is a paper as well) but he gives reasonable amount of time to complete. He is a very fair grader. I would take him again.

I am a cop doing the graduate certificate in police leadership, fully online. There are two debate halls, two policy case studies, one policy analysis paper, and a final exam. Like all online classes, it's all writing. Good class and very doable. I would recommend this professor as he makes the class so that you can balance work and school.

Super cool guy even though the class is online. Took him for Serial Murder and CJ and I'm signed up for another of his classes in the fall. He knows the info and gives study guides weeks prior to the exams and they're insanely helpful. There's only 3 exams, but do the study guide with the help of the slides and book and you should get a high A.

Dr. Winton isn't a hard grader. You definitely need the book for this course. The recorded lectures were helpful. I enjoyed the course.
