Going into this class, I was expecting it to be a walk in the park. Little did I know how difficult it would be! For how seemingly basic his lectures are, his tests are fairly difficult. A big attribution to the difficulty of his tests is his inability to write clear exam questions. Once you get the first test under your belt, the easier it gets!

Mowry cares about his students, but isn't the greatest teacher. Study what he says, thats the test. But be prepared for some information thats inaccurate or not entirely clear. Don't be afraid to ask him to clarify, but don't expect much of it. Tests were rough compared to the material covered, but reasonable and he was glad to discuss them with us

I thoroughly enjoyed Advanced Ecology with Dr. Mowry. I have had him for many classes, and I enjoy his teaching methods. We only had 3 exams and a project- no busy work. However, the exams were tough. He's strict when grading them as well. But, I really enjoyed all of the topics we covered and I'm taking him again this semester.

Dr. Mowry is great! He concentrates on the overall picture. Not really concerned with great detail. I highly suggest taking him for lecture and lab because he emphasizes the same material and closely connects the two. (Plus, he is usually the one who prepares the lab exams)

Structured lecture with lots of info. Write everything down and know it. Tests are essay and the more details you can present in a correct answer the higher your test score. Details will separate the A's from the B's and so on. Great Class!

I learned to like him more as the semester went on. He does tell you to worry about the big picture and is picky on tests, but I learned so much in the class and ended up with an A. Take him if you want to be challenged and learn a lot. I have more of a respect for him now that I'm out of the class.

really nice guy, just needs to work on relating to people and not animals. i used to like biology but now im just kinda confused by it. oh but hes pretty bad as a lab proffesor, do not recomend, its not the students fault you took to long to explain
