Get ready to teach yourself because in my opinion, going to class was not helpful. He never expands farther than his slides. If you are the type of students that needs things to be explained through steps, do not take his class because he does not really teach you how to do the problems. He gives you the question, and then he gives you the answer.

This online class wasn't too bad but I probably wouldn't take another class of his again. The questions of the tests and quizzes weren't really discussed in the power point so you're going to have to read the book. However, he gives a ton of extra credit so if your grade is bad, you could pull it up a letter grade if you do all of it.

If youre stuck between choosing May, Mayer, or Thomson. CHOOSE MAY. Ive taken all 3. I really am surprised by all the negative reviews. Not only does he give a study guide, he also does a review before each test. The tests are pretty much exactly what you studied on the review. He was very nice and always approachable for questions.

tests are all that count. homework is worth like 5pts, not even worth doing. he talks so low i cant hear. very tough course. he makes a couple jokes, just fake laugh them because they are too intelligent to be understood. hes not the best teacher

Listen to me, STAY AWAY. If you care about your grade, STAY AWAY. If you work hard, STAY AWAY. If you want a good teacher, STAY AWAY. This is by far, THE WORST professor I've ever had. By FAR! He doesn't know how to explain things, and his Powerpoints make no sense. You've been warned.

His way of teaching isn't the best. He only reads off of power points and the power points are so vague, you still don't understand what he's talking about. His reviews are just a summarized version of his vague lecture power points, they do not help you with the test and he doesn't help you out with what will be expected. 100% find someone else!!

He reads strictly from the powerpoint. If you ask a question, he gives super vague answers. For ex "How can I tell the number of sigfigs?" He'll reply "leading zeros count sometimes" but not tell you the rules that 'sometimes' refers to. His powerpoints show a harder way to solve everything. I had to learn everything from Youtube. Do not recommend

Worst class yet! He strictly reads from the slides only, he will not break down a problem for you or explain how he gets the numbers for the problem, he uses "examples" that have nothing to do with what he is teaching or no one gets it. When asked to break it down, he points to the slide and says "It goes from here to here". Small portion passed.

Recommend printing out PPoint AND writing lecture notes to help with quiz/tests. Chapter reading (with multiple choice review), power point, short video, discussion questions, and 5 question quiz each week. 50 question timed test every 2-3 weeks. He offers a lot of extra credit. Study Guides-write page numbers to help locate info during test.

Lectures are easy to follow w/ ppt, quizzes are easy, TONS of extra credit opportunities, easy to understand discussion requirements and really easy to get in touch with. Grades quickly and gives you a lot of opportunity to raise your grade.

One of the hardest classes I've taken. All he does is read power points. There is only 4 tests in the system for your grades and no reliable study guide is giving. His "study guides" don't ask you questions or provides any hint as to what you will be asked on the test. I recommend another professor.

I had trouble understanding things the way that he was explaining them at times. It helped a lot to read the book and youtube some things. Only gives 4 tests, 20 questions each, and a final. Homework is only 5 questions due 2 nights before the test. Gave 5 question quizzes online for extra credit. Would take again. Be ready to work for your grade.

Puts up helpful power points. There's a discussion every week and a quiz. There is also extra credit if it is even needed. Not a tough grader and discussions do not require comments on other students post. Will also add it is a very interesting course.

Dont take him if you care about your grade/learning. Class began @ 21 people down to 10. Don't bother going to lecture, all he does is read the PowerPoint, something you can do on your own. The PowerPoints are very bad too it will only confuse you. The grades consist of 4 exams (20q each), but are way harder than the material "taught". Good luck.

Dr. May is way too intelligent to be teaching at a state college. He is very confusing at points not because it is difficult to understand but because how it is explained. He is willing to help you but you will definitely need to study for this course. It is not an easy A. Focus on the review PPTs and you should be good. Lab is a super easy A.

Having a nice-guy teacher is always a plus, but it means nothing when it comes to your grade. I wish he had more than 20 Qs on his test 'cause it massacres your grade. Get 3-5 Qs wrong, and your overall grade is murdered. But there's hope for you, he has a LOT of extra credit opportunities, you just have to find time to write a LOT of essays

He is very nice. Tests are difficult. You do NOT need to know every formula, he provides a sheet with the formulas on there. He DOES provide extra credit in the form of a 1 page report on any science subject. No limit to how many you can do. Overall, he is a great teacher. You can get whatever grade you want, since he offers unlimited extra credit.

He's ok when it comes to teaching. Your best bet is printing out the powerpoint so you can actually pay attention to lecture. His test are really hard. He only gives 20 question so in you miss 3 that already brings you down to a B. You can tell he's passionate about science but he doesn't really care about your grade. He does give extra credit.

Funny teacher! he started dancing around when a kids cell phone went off LMAO. He is nice and uses powerpoints. He uploads them all online so we can print them. He has Extra Credit and will do a small rounding if close to the next letter grade.
