Dr. Lane is a fantastic professor and he is really passionate about what he is teaching. While he doesn't actually teach much, he is always accessible for any questions you have and he is very invested in making sure that you learn the material. I was in his office hours about once a week to make sure that I kept up.

Dr. Lane is a nice guy. Be prepared to teach yourself though. The class is set up group style So your team members can help you and Lane is there to guide you. In theory this should work however its really the blind leading the blind. Make sure to read all test INSTRUCTIONS for bonus points. Good luck.

This is how class goes every day 1. Turn in homework (a lot) 2. Work on classwork (which has hw in the back) 3. Ask any question 4. He replies, with read the book 5. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the duration of the semester

Professor Lane refuses to lecture. Every answer to any question is, "what does the book say?" You work in groups every class period and teach yourselves. When you ask a him to check your work in class, he'll just say if its right or wrong with no explanation. Very difficult class and learned how to spend $30,000+ to teach myself. What an investment

Dr. Lane is an intimidating but overall nice guy. There are daily hw assignments for the upcoming ch and weekly's as review (due the last class of the week). The set up is ALL GROUP WORK. There is NO LECTURE in this course! Don't be afraid to switch groups and be sure to DO HW CORRECTIONS! Tests are tough. Be prepared to have some very late nights!

Chuck Lane gives out work that you yourself must learn. This is diy class. Every semester has three textbooks that you have to complete a chapter a day. I spent an average of at least 4 hours a day doing homework for this class. This is the hardest class you will ever take.

He uses a "teaching" style that he HAS to justify every semester with data and statistics about how they work. The issue is that this data really has nothing to do with his approach to teaching. He likens the style to being a coach or mentor but he is neither. He literally doesn't do anything to assist you but give handouts. funny guy though

The people complaining on hear about Chuck's helpfulness obviously never tried very hard to go talk with him. He would talk with me and my classmates for hours, clearly clarifying any misunderstandings that we had. Yes the work is hard, but physics is a hard class. Dr. Lane may be intimidating to talk to, but just get past that pick his braIn

Doesn't teach and textbook choice is terrible. Tests are irrelevant to in class material and book material for that matter. Poor sensitivity to lack of student understanding

Dr. Lane shares a very poor and old attitude towards collegiate education. He's stuck in the "do it all yourself without any clarification bc thats how the workinf force is" but fails to realize I don't pay 35,000 dollars a semester to get a job, however I do for an education. He does not lecture, class is optional, and he dodges questions

Not a good teacher in fact most of the teaching i had to do myself. I went in to see him almost everyday and still only barely squeaked by. i would not advise to take this teacher, he is very difficult. When you go into his office during office hours and ask him a question he just answers it with another question which really does nothing for you.

A very laissez-faire course. Be prepared to teach yourself and put in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. An A isn't impossible if you do this.

Dr. Lane is an awesome professor. I'm not a physics wiz and made a B with a moderate amount of work. DO THE HOMEWORK. you can fail all the test and still pass with good homework grades. He is very helpful and a great teacher, but it is physics... so it's not going to be an easy A.

Dr. Lane is an excellent teacher. He explains physics with great clarity. On the other hand he does teach physics so you cannot expect his classes to be easy if you do not like physics.

Dr. Lane is one of the best teachers I have ever had. His methods are a little unconventional, but it makes learning the material more fun and exciting. He's very helpful and likes to be creative when he's making out the tests, so the problems aren't just dull and boring, they're actually interesting and fun.

One of my all time favorite people at Berry! He is willing to help anybody who seeks it and truly wants you to understand the "why" in everything. Once you get over the initial shock of taking physics classes, you will find that Chuck Lane is act
