Most difficult class I have taken at WSU. Material is not necessarily hard but exam questions are. Grades very harshly on exams. No extra credit. Doesnt round grades. Very rude when asked questions. Take this class at your community college.

The most rude and disrespectful professor I have ever had. Everyone in my lab group even tried to contact the dean of students about her it was so bad. She called us names, if we asked questions she told us we should just drop the course instead of helping. Refused to answer questions and record lectures. She also graded extremely hard.

Not understanding at all of students needs. Blames everything on the students even technology issues. Told us to email questions and to not ask questions during class (so I did and her response was IDK ask your TA). Does not post lectures and also does not give you notes. Basically have to teach yourself the course.

She's completely inadequate when it comes to social distance teaching. she refused to adopt and embrace online teaching techniques that would help us to be more successful. things like never posting lectures on blackboard but having lecture based exams. she called us names, shot down questions, yelled at usand is overall mean. dont take her class.

This professor is extremely unprofessional and rude. She repeatedly shot down questions and avoided responsibility with the utmost diligence. She taught my class on zoom and had all exams based on lecture, but never used PowerPoint, or recorded lecture. I contacted the dean of students to make a case against her. She lied ab what was on the exam

everyone who says this class was impossible definitely didnt go. if you go to class, listen to every single word that comes out of her mouth, remember things like her cats name, you will get a big fat A. concepts are straightforward. prepare to put in the work though. oh and shes definitely not a nice prof

The class is heavily based on exams, these exams are so long for only 50 minutes and she takes points off for every minuscule detail. The only way to pass these exams is to get ahold of previous years' tests. The lab is the only part that saved my grade. The labs are fun and the quizzes are easy. One of the hardest classes I've taken.

Very difficult for a 100 level class. Her exams are solely based on her lectures and you have to pay very close attention to what she says because anything she says could become an exam question. Would highly recommend trying to get a hold of old exams to prepare for the format of her exam questions because they are all short answer and specific.

I thought the material for the class was interesting and genuinely feel like I learned a lot. Your lab grade does depend on the TA you have though, some are easier with quizzes than others

The class itself is easy, the material is pretty simple and straightforward, but her exams are all open ended and a little too long to complete in 50 minutes. That being said, a lot of your grade depends on the TA you have in lab.

Your grade is heavily based on the four exams in lecture and the quizes given in lab. The textbook isn't necssary at all unless you want to use it for extra study material. Lectures are easy to follow but the exams are very specfic. She doesn't do multiple choice and you would think thats easier but she's looking for very specific answers.

She really knows her stuff but her written tests are impossibly long for 50 minutes and they're the bulk of your grade. Her exams are all based on her lectures (which no notes are ever posted for, outdated teaching) and random personal life stories. The tests are impossibly long and unless you're getting old exams from a friend you'll be in trouble

Dr. Helmick is the best science professor I've ever had. Although her exams are VERY long and a little hard, all the information for the test is all on your notes. Go to class, her life stories and lectures matter, so listen close. The labs are fun and easy, and the quizzes aren't bad. Great and caring professor hands down!!

This was probably one of the hardest classes Ive taken. The way she presents information is hard to retain because all she does is just talk in lecture so if you dont write every thing down you wont do well on tests. (I suggest recording her) I learned more from my TA than her. I wouldnt suggest this class if you dont absolutely need it.

This is the hardest class I've ever taken mainly because of her exams and teaching style. She gives you handouts and you're expected to know everything on it + memorize names, etc. I felt so overwhelmed after my first exam. That being said, get the old exams from people who have taken the class before, cannot emphasize how much it helps.

Going to class is a MUST because all her lectures are projections of her notes. Very outdated teaching method. She treats students based on her mood. Tests questions are all essay questions, too much details and have to finish in 50 minutes (usually tests are at least 6 pages). Pay attention to her personal story (dog, cat, etc.) for E.C.

Took Chemistry last year and passed with an A because my TA was amazing. Taking MBios this year and my TA doesn't even have office hours nor does he attempt to help me during lab. I feel like chemistry should be harder than mbios but I am finding it is the opposite because there is no support / no one is available for help.

Worst class I've ever taken. Even though lectures are not mandatory, you have to take notes on everything she says as it will be on the exam. My first exam was awful, teacher said it would be multiple choice, T/F, matching, but it was all short answer. Studied my butt, didn't pass. Memorizing is a MUST. Don't even try to understand just memorize.
