CONDESCENDING! and Moody. yeah he is 50 percent nice and 50 present rude, very flippant. Don't get on his bad side, because he will hold a grudge the entire class time. Your better off paying for private music lessons than with him. He is better at teaching advanced students than beginners. And he DOES NOT want to go at a slow pace for beginners.

He is VERY unorganized and sometimes confusing. Two papers are easy and gave ideas of where to go for second paper. We had presentations every week so the students basically taught the class. Super easy but did not need to show up. Textbook is needed for online quizzes but other than that it was a waste of money. Most answers are on quizlet. Easy A

Dr. Whitehead is a kind/skilled professor. He is always willing to help outside of class. If you want to learn guitar, this is an excellent place to start. Great foundational stuff. However he is sort of disorganized and canceled class fairly often. So be on top of the textbook reading and ask questions. 6 quizzes, midterm, and a final.

This class was overwhelming at first simply due to the work thrown at you throughout the semester. Once you start the work, you realize its not bad. The class only meets on Wednesdays, and every Wednesday a group presents. There are 2 presentations, 6 online listening and regular quizzes, and 2 papers. One paper requires 2 concerts to attend.

Dr. Whitehead justs wants to see his students learn. 10+ years of teaching the classical guitar and is very knowledgeable in music. He is emotionally-driven, which can either get in the way of enjoying the class or contribute to a positive, learning environment. In class, he is limited to time so you will have to read the book. Guitar required.

Professor Whitehead is simply amazing. This is a guitar class, so of course if you're new, it's gonna be a bit challenging. He's very caring and helpful! He will help you outside of class with guitar even if doesn't necessarily have anything to do with a class. I enjoyed listening to him play and teach

(Guitar Instruction) It's impossible not to learn something from him just from being in the same room. Incredibly knowledgeable with a ridiculous breadth of experience in his field. Super invested in people's success. You get used to his intensity. Passionately dedicated as an artist to music, as a teacher to students, and as a person to people.

Introduction to music via the guitar. Dr Whitehead is a very talented guy. Very inspirational too. The class fast pace so you MUST practice playing the guitar outside of class. Pop quizzes, 2 tests, no homework. Class gets difficult toward to end of the semester. Music is just difficult in general so practice, practice, practice. Must go to class!

I took his Music 9 class which is guitar for beginners. This class requires a guitar. He has a corny sense of humor, he comes off as intimating at first but he is super friendly and wants students to have the same passion that he has for the guitar. He moves at a fast pace. There's random quizzes, not that much assignments, he does take attendance.

Corey is one singularly the best thing to happen to Fresno State. He is overqualified for the position he has and shares his unique Flamenco guitar training to bring a cultured beautiful sound to the music department. He is passionate about his music and teaching it. I had never picked up a guitar in my life. Give it your all and you will do well.

I would recommend this instructor because he was very helpful to me and was really nice overall. I had a family emergency and helped me out so much with attendance. As long as you do what you're supposed to and try he's going to pass you. Study the book and lessons you learn as a class and you'll be fine!

Professor Whitehead is awesome! He's a funny guy who's passionate about what he does. There were 4-5 tests, a concert review or two, 2 playing exams and a Final. only for those who want to learn to play guitar. Class is based off book. He is willing to help those who ask. Also you buy your own guitar (Check Craigslist!). I highly recommend him.

Professor is great! Attend to 2 concert and write 4 page each essay only, that will cover you up if you miss 5 quiz or fail them , VERY EASY!!. It will get challenging by the end, but he grades very easy on guitar playing finals. Guarantee you'll pass if you study playing the guitar hard. Easy Class.

This professor is great. Don't be intimidated by him! He comes across like he doesn't care but he does! He's helpful if you ask questions. Attendance is "mandatory" but you can miss here and there. It's just the majority of your grade. It's a simple class if you pay attention. Get's challenging towards the end!But it was an easy A

AWFUL! at one point I thought he was seriously going to give us a lesson on how to write a paper correctly. He does not specify assignments, does not go by his syllabus, and does not appreciate it when student's try to honestly get clarity, he feels like he is being attacked. Don't take him.
