Idk what to say bc I was forced to take this class since I'm in MHC and I don't rlly like this sort of stuff but honestly just do the work LMAO literally as long as u complete the assignments its such an easy class. I took this online so it might be a diff story if its irl. She's a fair grader too so don't stress and heads up theres group work

She was super passionate! Sometimes, it got in the way of her teaching because students ended up getting confused by what she wants assignment wise. Can be a little all over the place, but overall she was nice. Understanding and really wants everyone to find their creative self.

avoid if possible!! beginning she seemed chill and lectures were somewhat interesting but flowery and abstract. By the end of the sem she was stressed about the mac event so she whipped something up within the last few weeks and it made no sense, no one knew what they were doing but she expected a lot. unclear grading & expectations

Comment:

A professor whose only claim to joy is through her skepticism of those she treats as beneath her: her students. I was looking forward to learning from her but was often the victim of Dales embarrassment sessions. Don't recommend at all. She completely obliterated mine/others attempts at classroom participation by insulting intelligence.

I like her style but I wouldn't take her if you just need a credit. I took her for credit /electives and she is tough grader for no reason. Her work isn't clear all the time. One time she said we had a final presentation then switched to both a final presentation and final paper. She reads your work late and embarrasses students publicly

If you're lazy, get out now. If you want to work hard and learn then definitely take this course. She is smart, interesting and very informative. If you need help you only need to ask. She expects a lot from her students but only because she wants them to learn and grow by the end of the course. Also,she has connections up the wazoo so work hard!!!

I took her for AfricanaDiaspora, there is bo exams just 3 VERY Annoying Papers. A journal log you keep of all the readings. Her class was very pointless; i felt the only reason i came to class was to make sure my attendance was marked. She makes the class into a THEATRE CLASS; we had to become ACTORS!! It was very annoying. If your a shy person forget about this class; she basically makes you every class become a character from the books. I felt her last paper was VERY unstructured

Do not take her class. She's one of those professors that prides herself on being the "tough professor". She embarasses her students publicly,talks down to them, and to top it off she's a hypocrite that demands perfection but doesn't give it. She also expects you to act like its a theater class. Save yourself regret and take another CORE.

Comment:

A prolific teacher with exceptional skills. Her lectures are highly engaging and due to the fact that she is a teacher of Performing Blackness. She will make you get up on your feet to perform pieces or visual images for each book that is read. Yes she is stern, but she is REAL and she only wants the best for her students. Simply a great teacher!

She is a serious teacher and expects the best. You get a grade that you deserve. I had 2 log audit papers and a final formal paper. Logging after you read the novels is a must and ATTENDANCE is a must. Every absence is a 2 point deduction off your grade!

If you think you will get an easy A, think again. There are no test or final but you have to do 1 monologue and one paired scene. For your fial she ask you to do the monologue again. She grade a bit hard because she expects everyone to be great actors. Memorize your lines & practice & maybe she may think you are up to standards.Good LUCK! I got a B

She is a nice lady, at times she speakes to the class like children. Some may find it offensive. There are no finals or tests. One monolouge,a paired scene to preform, journouls are to be written every class & will be graded. You have to see 2 plays & write a paper for each. This class is not an easy A. She grades hard. You can actually learn a lot from her class- it is very informative. Be prepared to take responsibilty for your own actions- she does NOT like excuses. However, it is ok to be straight up with students, but sometimes it comes off the wrong way with her. She does have the tendency to talk to students as children. Aside from her attitude-its ok

Terrible teacher. She would talk to us as if we were children, she had no problem bad mouthing someone's attempts in front of the entire class. She expected perfection from an undergraduate class. She would never say you did a good job, always critical.
