He's very likable & funny. He's lighthearted & not a scary professor at all. He's really open to helping people in office hours & providing students with any resource they need to succeed. Some dense reading, but his lectures are important to listen to & participate in order to do the homework successfully & get a good grade. He's a silver fox! (;

Seriously such a cool and passionate guy, he genuinely cares about all his students, even in a larger lecture like this. Class is a piece of cake if you actually read and make note sheets. Lectures are optional but cover additional material that will be on the test so you should just go anyway

I absolutely loved this class! DCH is very passionate about what he is talking about. Readings are assigned weekly and there are quizzes over every reading, though. Otherwise, it's really not too difficult.

Basic quizzes weekly over assigned readings, somewhat difficult exams, but As are definitely attainable if you prepared. DCH is amazing- fun in class and actually teaches. He actually emailed me a week before the final saying that I've worked hard to earn my grade, and I didn't need to take the exam and would keep my A to work on other classes.

DCH is one of the best professors I've had. He is hilarious and passionate, and it makes the lectures entertaining. I would definitely recommend taking a class with him. Also, very willing to help students that go to his office hours. The global climate change final 2 week project was the most fun I've ever had in a class.

DCH is a smart, funny, cool guy! His lectures are terribly boring and long, however. The reading quizzes he gives are rough, but the final project and 2 papers usually offset any bad quiz grades. Too much work for an AOI.

I had Professor Courard-Hauri as a professor over the summer for a class on development in Nicaragua. I have to say that I wish I went to Drake University so that I could have a class with him. Professor Courard-Hauri was excellent and enthusiastic, although I did not have him in the traditional classroom setting, so taht may be another story.

This man is a crazy hippie. Watch out if you write a paper because he will tell you a certain way to cite and if you don't do it his way (even if you do it a right way) he will have a big problem with you.

I took his global climate change class to fulfill an AOI and it turned out to be one of the most interesting classes I've taken at Drake - I loved his teaching style, he made the material accessible and fun. I thought it was very clear if you put the work in outside of class.

I wish I had never taken this class. He is a GREAT guy but horrible teacher when it comes to lectures. I hated going to classes, doing the LONG assignments, and taking the advanced tests. The thing that makes this class easy to get a decent grade in is his curve - almost 10%. The book is a bore and hard to understand. I'm glad that it is over.
