Dr. Pratt is honestly the best professor I've ever had. He is an amazing teacher, cares about his students, & is very knowledgable on the subject. He explains it in a way that is easy to understand & wants you to ask questions if you don't. His tests are VERY hard but its cause the subject is hard. he does whatever he can to help you pass.

Comment:

Attendance isn't mandatory but if you want extra credit, you should go. Most of the test material he will highlight during lecture so there's no downside to going to every class. He makes botany interesting and usually has a study day before the test. There are quizzes, 5 tests, and a make-up test (attendance helps here).

Dr. Pratt is really amazing. He gives you lecture outlines to print out and take notes on. The tests are 20 multiple choice and 30 matching questions. He gives you a list of vocab that will on each test. As long as you make flashcards for the vocab and study it everyday you can make As. He gives 5 points of extra credit on each exam.

Dr. Pratt is a great professor, but I made a mistake by not going to very many lectures. Attendance is mandatory or else you wont pass. The tests are from the lectures which he makes entertaining but reading the book also help. I will take him again in the fall. You need to work for the grade you want in this class.

He makes listening to lectures fun and engaging. The test for class requires alot of studying but Dr Pratt is always willing to answer questions outside of class and help any way he can so you do good.

Professor Pratt is an overall great professor. He is respectful of students when they need help and has always been present during his office hours. Outside of class the only work required were open note quizzes. The hardest part of his class were the exams, you need to study more than you think you do.

Dr. Pratt is a lively person. The way he teaches makes the subject matter interesting and easy. If you go through all the power-points and give attention in the class, you will make an A for sure.

I would not advise to take this course if they are not Botany majors. The exams is mostly all short-answer questions, with one fill in the blank chart, only like 10 multiple choice and an essay question at the end. You are graded mainly by exams, if you do bad(75) -you do not have anyway of passing. And there is a huge research paper as exam grade

Although you have to put in a considerable amount of effort in order to study all of the material, his positivity, quirky jokes, & interaction with his students lightens the overall atmosphere of the class. All of his tests come directly from the powerpoints, which are available online. He is truly one of the most amazing professors I have taken!

Dr. Pratt is an amazing professor. He expects a lot out of his students. He wants nothing but the best for them. Study the vocab, listen in the lecture and memorize the PPTs and you'll make 100s on the exams. I did! good luck!

He is the vocab master, study vocab and be able to connect them to other vocab wordstopics. He gives some credit for attendance, so GO! Didn't use textbook much, most came from his lecture powerpoint notes.

Dr. Pratt is very funny and entertaining. Had him at 9 am and he kept me awake! Definitely go to his office hours! He is willing to help! I failed the first two test and went to him and he looked to see what went wrong and made a better study plan for me. He goes straight from the notes but definitely make flashcards! They help!

Awesome guy. His classes are ALWAYS interesting, and all of his tests are easy to study for. He is very good at making class fun, and we even took walkabouts around campus during the lesson to find plants and things related to the lesson material. All around fun guy. Just study hard, don't be stupid during class, be on time, and It'll be a blast.

Great Professor. Has actually been in the field for many years unlike some others. Defianatley recommend. Gives bonus points if he doesn't see or hear cellphones. Hates bannanas. Speakes Spanish and Finish. Tests come straight from powerpoint. Will need book for lab though.

Great prof! Made Botany less stressful. If you're a kinesthetic learner, I highly recommend him. Instead of reading the powerpoint word for word, he takes time to explain and relate concepts in ways students can understand. He encourages questions, and can take jokes. Tests all mult choice. Oh, and he also hates cell phones and bananas.

Dr. Pratt is the best professor I have ever had and I am a Junior. I had no interest in Botany before this class but changed my major just to have more classes from him!!!! Definitely take Dr. Pratt.
