I took a few classes with Dr. Vogler. Dr. V is not a professor for someone wanting an easy class. The material seems straight-forward in lecture but Vogler likes to throw you curve balls on tests. She is not the best professor when it comes to office hours as she tends to be condescending and acts put out when you go to her for help.

Comment:

Dr. Vogler is easily one of the best professors in the BIO department. She is extremely caring and really pushes you to understand concepts so you can apply them later in life. Unfortunately, this is the last year she will be teaching BIOL 282, and she is retiring soon, but if you can get a class with her before then, its definitely worth the time

Comment:

Nice lady who is passionate about ecology. However, the tests were based off of about 6 or 7 long power points so it was a lot of information to study from and can be overwhelming. She's a strict grader so take your time with the homework's because they can save your grade if you're not a good test taker.

Comment:

Very interesting class with a truly knowledgeable professor. Dr. Vogler provides insights to your future and grades fairly albeit not easily. Tests are fairly difficult, but plenty of opportunities to accumulate points

Comment:

Great teacher. Reads off power points in class that she has online. Very nice lady, class was very interesting and easy as long as you did the work. Tests were 80% from notes and not very hard. Great class, nice teacher.

Comment:

Great teacher who was very helpful whenif you went to seek help. Very accommodating to students schedules and a good lecturer. Her exams were clear and everything you needed to know was in your notes. labs were some times long but never tedious. Online open note book quizzes. Just show her you care and she will help in anyway she can!

Dr. Vogler has a passion for her work and is one of the best overall science teachers at the college. Homeworks, quizzes and lab write-ups are easy and a good amount of points towards your course grade. Exams can be tricky but just do the homework problems and read the textbook. Vogler rocks and is a really fun person to get to know! Hates corn

this class is a little harder then general ecology. It takes a good amount of time to study and do work for. Field trips are time consuming too. Dr. Vogler is a great teacher and is always willing to meet and help with anything. Every class of hers I had, I am glad I took with her (she knows her stuff, and can explain it well).

also had her for ecology, very helpful, takes time to help students even outside regular office hours. very fair grader and makes class interesting. tests come straight from the notes and lecture. labs are fun too, just messy sometimes. i definately reccommend her for any biology class.

Even though the tests were really hard, it was a very enjoyable class. The field trips were a lot of fun - especially when we visited the stream and looked for all kinds of aquatic species. Dr. Vogler is very nice and will help you with questions.
