Dr Fraleigh is the BEST! He is so kind, caring, and funny! He loves to teach Freedom of Speech, and is so happy when he sees his students. I learned SO much in his class. Take Freedom of Speech, it will make you so much smarter and knowledgeable. He is one of the best professors ever; and he knows his stuff. Take him, you won't be disappointed.

Dr. Fraleigh definitely makes you work, but as long as you show up to class, attempt the work, and give him the "good college try" you'll pass. The daily readings can be dense, but the HW attached to them is essentially credit/no credit and not that tough. Exams were open note but not open book and presentations were work intensive but not hard.

Dr. Fraleigh is expert in communication- he literally wrote the book! I feel like a better and more organized speaker after taking his class. The grade book consists of 4 speeches, a about 9 (one page) reading/ lecture responses, & class participation (which is done using the socratic method). He is very lax grader and an all-around kind guy.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Fraleigh. It is obvious he is passionate about FOS, which makes learning fun. His energetic, positive vibes reflect on the whole class and makes him a joy to be around. If you are a CSUF student and have not taken a class he teaches, then I feel bad for you, Son. I highly recommend him as a professor!!

Dr. Fraleigh is fantastic. He makes his class fun and it's not all that challenging. Show up, do the reading, deliver a halfway decent speech, and you will be fine. Dr. Fraleigh is the type of teacher that you dream of taking for all classes. He's dedicated to making sure his students succeed and is just really awesome!

He is so sweet! He is such a jokester! He grades SUPER easy on all the speeches, as long as you have good evidence. He calls on "volunteers" for participation points to answer his questions. Make sure you know the pros and cons to lots of relevant issues today! Overall, I had a wonderful experience with him.

I took his public speaking class in the summer intersession and I really enjoy his class alot ! Its rare that I will write a review but I just have to write one for Mr.Douglas. He makes the class interesting and he is very helpful ! He always has a smile on his face whenever we talk or ask him questions. Definitely recommend him !

Had a great time in Fraleigh's class! He has the clearest, most straightforward, most reasonable syllabus I have ever encountered. His class is very straightforward, and he tries to make it fun. He has a goofy sense of humor, but he's very intelligent and experiences and he grows on you. I would recommend Fraleigh's class to anyone taking Comm!

Dr.Fraleigh is an awsome professor!! He makes class fun. Attendance is mandatory since you get points for partcipation (thats how he takes role). Tests are open notes so they arent that bad. theres a midterm, final, and three speeches.
