Great guy, if you take the class with this teacher it is a lot easier than with other teachers, also it focuses heavily on religion.

Prof. Schmitt is an incredibly intelligent guy, but he's a little outdated. His lectures were repetitive and he uses a projector with handwritten slides. At times the class put me to sleep and other days, it left me super inspired. One discussion day a week required, two tests, one final paper. If you're not into metaphysics, probably not for you.

Comment:
Only three papers (two were in class for exam grades) in the entire class so that was great. Although the papers do require a lot of thought and for you to actually understand the material. Prof. Schmitt is a great guy, would definitely take the class if I could again. Also, get Monica as an AI, she really clarifies the material learned in class.

He's an extremely nice man but the class is pretty boring. Attendance isn't mandatory, which is nice, and you can get away with missing a few classes as long as you get the notes from someone in your discussion. If you're looking for a somewhat easy class that doesn't require a lot of work, take this class. But keep in mind the lectures aren't fun.

If you are interested in philosophy take him, lecture moved very quickly, discussion is where you learn. With that being said your grade rest in the hands of the TA not Schmitt, so get to know them. Class is similar to an English class, meet with the TA for guidance on exams/papers.

Look, he's a nice guy and all, and a good professor, but the classes get a little boring. Some material is hard to understand and I decided to sleep rather than try to understand it. He is very helpful though if you ask. He looked at my essay and gave me a ton of comments before the tests.

Professor schmitt is incredibly smrt and knows his stuff. Unfortunately he talks incredibly fast and is extremely confusing at times. Never fear, the class only requires 2 papers, that if written well can easily give a good grade. When writing papers, talk to the TA and not schmitt for a good grade. Although he is great to just come by and talk to schmitt, he is a genius and a great person.

A modern-day prophet. His lectures are mainly brainy soliloquies punctuated with bits of wit and cynicism. It was a pleasure to hear his ramblings.

I love to hear his thoughts and listen to him talk, but my attention span is not what it used to be. He's really monotone, so it becomes hard to follow, but he's a genius.

Intelligence is literally pouring out of this guy. It may be difficult to keep up, but try to keep an interest and only take notes that are 100% crucial. Two papers and a final wasn't much to ask from us, but it requires a lot of thought.

Professor Schmitt really has a passion for teaching. He also loves philosophy. There are two essays and a final essay. It really is not necessary to go to lecture if you show up to discussion and read the readings. cool

He does a pretty good job of making his lectures interesting. Can drag on a bit, but that's to be expected. Gives you test questions several weeks in advance, so you have plenty of time to prepare.

Interesting and funny if you actually listen to him. Looks kind of like an older version of Robin Williams. Really sweet guy and easy class if you show up. Subject matter is kind of dull.
