Geoff is the kindest, smartest, and most understanding professor I have had the privilege to take a class with. He is always accessible, gives detailed expectations and feedback, is there for students academically and emotionally, and is a joy to learn from. I wish I could take every class with him, he is my favorite! There aren't enough characters

We read about 8 plays and prohl gives a lot of quizzes, but if you have done the reading they are absolutly nothing to worry about. Keep track of vocab and the exams are a breeze. The first half of the semester is reading and the second half is acting a scene w/ a group (don't have to act if you dont want too) sweet guy

Geoff is a master of the field. He is one of the most important dramaturgs in America, but he is such a kind, thoughtful man.

G Proehl is one of my absolute favorite teachers. I had him for my freshman seminar class and is was so engaging and made class interesting. He has such dry humor and is hilarious. He is a tough grader but a fair grader. Though he rarely gives A's on essays, he gives great feedback so you can develop and improve upon your writing.

Geoff was my advisor Freshman year and I could not have asked for anyone better. He is very funny and nice, willing to help students out. This doesn't make him a pushover though- he is pretty firm on what he expects and he doesn't give full credit for big assignments often. Still one of my favorite classes this semester. Don't miss out on him

Geoff is hilarious. Even if I didn't understand what he was talking about, it was still a great class. I would definitely recommend any of his classes. Make sure to keep up with the reading though.

Geoff expects excellence from every student regardless of their theatre background. He is constantly challenging the ways that his student's view theatre and he is always developing his classes to meet the needs of today's world. He is zany, extremely intelligent, well meaning, and very easy to approach. The best director with whom I have worked.

Geoff is a genuinely hilarious guy. He's super animated and fun. Sometimes the class breaks out into random improv situations directed by him having nothing to do with class. Basically your entire grade rests on papers. He rarely gives As, but it's pretty easy to get a high B. Discussions are the core of the class, there isn't a lot of lecturing.

Proehl makes class entertaining and hilarious. He constantly apologizes for "being silly" and not teaching us anything, but I think the fact that he's not afraid to be serious is the best part. Attendance is mandatory.

Everyday, I look forward to his class. He's so nice, inspires you to think, and makes boring material interesting. I'm a math major and thought i'd hate this class but i was wrong. It's my favorite class of all. Everyday of this class is an enlightened one. his class should be required to graduate.
