Comment:
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! Being this is a 100 level class I expected to be taught at least a few basics of philosophy before I was asked to read a textbook full of quotes. He expects you to call him on the phone because he does not believe in zoom calls and is rude when you do call him. Doesnt answer email. Only 2 papers for the whole class.

DO NOT TAKE HIS ONLINE CLASS!!! he never responds to emails and you dont know ur final grade until classes are over. He grades two essays for the whole course. By far the worst professor.

Only gives oral quizzes off of readings that are impossible to gain any information from or comprehend. Grade was completely based off of 2 quizzes and an essay

I promise you Tetrault is the most unique teacher you will ever have. I have never seen a teacher turn such a simple subject into rocket science. He will teach for 5-10 minutes than hit you with his classic "ask me questions." He grades by three tests and gives a point for talking in class. Don't sacrifice your GPA for a boring gen-ed class. NO GO

DO NOT TAKE Professor Tetrault ever. Worst professor I've ever had. Unclear how quizzes or papers are going to be graded. You never get any grades back and you don't even find out your grade in the class until after classes end. The quiz reviews do not help at all with the quizzes. Worst class ever.

Dont take this class if you want to set yourself up for failure. I did every assignment possible. There was two tests that was nothing that we even talked about. Professor never taught a single thing he just stood up front and said ask a question that was it. I missed one class and he still failed me when i did every other thing possible.

One of the realist professors that Ive ever had. The readings can be difficult at times but he does a great job explaining it. Id take another class with him if I could.

He is just awful. His class is impossible, not because the material is too difficult but because he literally doesn't teach at all and then gives the most difficult quizzes and you only have three grades the whole semester. This professor will ruin your gpa. If you care about your grades don't take him, he sucks.

Doesn't teach, makes you read and every class he just says ask me questions. Doesn't answer questions but only throws more questions back at you. Tells you you're wrong most times you raise your hand. Only graded on 2 tests, 1 paper and attendance.

This is the realest professor you'll find at Westfield State. That would explain why many of the students don't like him... they're all fake! Ha Ha! Take a class of his (not symbolic logic unless u really have to or really just want to avoid a math but trust me its harder) hear what he's got to say and have some good discussions.

Gerald is probably the most interesting teacher I have ever had or will ever have. The class is about 6 to 8 philosophers whose works you will have to read. The class is in no way dry. He wheels his own chair to the class because he hates the chairs they have. If the screen is down at the beginning of class he shouts profanity about lazy teachers!

Had him for philo101. It's the only class I have ever failed and the only class whose subject matter has left a lasting impression on me. Prof Tetrault revitalized my interest in education through his sheer human intensity and intellectual ability. I recommend this class to anybody who wants to learn how to learn and know how to develop thought.

Do NOT take if not interested/proficient in philosophy. No notes, no lectures. Only independent readings. Each class he demands questions on the readings. These are your only form of notes to use alongside the readings for the only two grades in the class - a midterm paper and a final paper. Very difficult grader.

DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR SYMBOLIC LOGIC. Been here for 3 years, by far the hardest class I've taken (and it's only a level 100 class). He's like most professors here: Intelligent beyond belief but just an awful teacher of the subject. Great guy, but do not recommend

By far the most difficult class I've taken at WSU. If you're looking just to fulfill your core, take a different class. The whole class was supposed to be based on 4 papers, but we only got through half of the material and only did two of the papers. Very interesting/funny guy, but if you don't have a great interest in philosophy you're screwed.

This man's intellect is off the chain. If you want to interact with a person with extremely high intelligence take a class with him. Have an open mind and you are guaranteed to learn something. I learned more in his class than all others combined.
