I've taken 3 tax courses with Dr. Geisler- materials from his classes stuck with me more than any other. Exams are tough- require you to actually learn concepts not just definitions. Homework is straightforward- preps you for exam. Treats students like professionals. Very fair. He knows his stuff and expectations are made very clear at the start

Material covered isn't easy. Geisler works through enough exercises in class and provides lecture outlines to help follow along. Don't rely solely on that. You've gotta read, practice, and do homework everyday. One of the best professors, great class, very clear and useful lectures- but you've gotta focus. Tax isn't fun but he makes you learn it.

Dr. Geisler is an amazing professor-definately one of the best in the accounting department and possibly all of UMSL. He is willing to help you understand the material if you need extra clarification. Dr. G will also go out of his way to check resumes and give career or internship advice. The tests are all multiple choice and hard! Study-ALOT!

Greg is a very good teacher. Tax is inherently difficult. If you want to do well, you'll make sure that you do all the homework in advance and read the textbook. If you do not want to do these things, why are you studying accounting? His tests are all multiple choice.

Syllabus is very detailed (20 pages). Homework is graded on whether or not it is correct, not just making an attempt. The homework is worth 7.5% and attendance is worth 5% of your grade. Greg is very approachable and seems as though he really wants his students to understand the material. Overall it was a good class, and I liked the instructor.

EXCELLENT teaching style. Explains, gives example, has YOU try. Then you go home, read what he has taught and do homework. No teaching yourself and doing homework BEFORE it is taught. If you attend class and do the homework you will find the tests not very difficult. I loved the class and thought he was awesome!

The exams are really hard. Homework is due every class. Business tax returns are hard. Get ready to study hard for this course. Geisler is a good teacher though

He is a good teacher. He makes the subject seem easier than it is. It is nearly impossible to get an A but fairly easy to get a B in his class. Get ready for sleepless nights and stressful days if you want an A in this class!

Geisler is a great instructor. He is very thorough. I learned so much about income taxes in this class. He always provides good examples to illustrate points. He's not an easy professor, but because he's tough, you learn a lot. Take Geisler for tax!
