Comment:

He could care less about your voice and more about his pay check. Doesn't even show up for his own class and refused to help you. You are basically on your own in this class. He has created a terrible learning environment and I'm now doubting myself about going into a professional setting because of him. The absolute worst.

Comment:

Guenko is such a kind human being. He has a huge heart and is always out for your best interest. You have to work hard if you want to continue to work with him. If you start to slack, he will move you to a new studio. He is very lax during normal lessons, but as you get closer to a performance, he becomes VERY critical. But definitely is biased.

Excellent voice but very poor directing skills. Also shows great bias toward male students or female students he finds attractive. The "heart of Gold comment" either written by one of his favored sons or one of the longer haired, or asian female students he favors. They are the only ones who get any good from him. The rest are just kind of there

excellent singer, excellent pedagogue, but his departmental decisions are seriously compromised (in the worst meaning of the word) by personal biases (his wife, an incompetent teacher, also on the faculty). If working with him, keep minimum contact with his wife if you want to continue under his instruction

A great teacher and a great man. I miss taking voice lessons with him. He can sing AMAZINGLY well.

Besides being an exceptionally effective vocal instructor and role model, he is also a man with a heart of gold. He has the perfect balance between being demanding and encouraging. He takes a very personal interest in every student and genuinely cares.
