Comment:

Lab teacher for edit 202. Stay away from him at all costs. Labs are extremely easy but he didn't help at all, boy or girl, and got angry if you asked someone else for help. Easy labs for the most part but he marked extremely hard. Took of 10% of one lab because of one spelling mistake. I'd recommend you take this lab with a different teacher.

WORST TEACHER EVER. Girls stay away he will not answer your questions until it is convenient for him. He is super nice to boys though. He treats you like you are worthless and stupid. He yells at you and makes you fell dumb. Stay Away. All EDIT labs are easy it doesn't matter what teacher you have but stay away from Hal

This man is dreadfully DULL. so monotone that I fell asleep nearly every class I attended. He assigns tripple the assignments of the other profs and has high expectations, to be fair they are very clear.. Questions come right from the practice exams on BB, do those and practice COMMON SENSE guaranteed PASS no matter what

Hal's a nice enough guy, but a poor instructor. Very dull. Most classes are a waste of time. Gives in-class assignments to try to increase attendance which was down to about 50% by term end. Pointless questions on exams. Makes no use of most concepts he teaches. Lectures are general and pointless. Very old-school.

Despite what all of the other comments say, I think that Hal is a pretty good prof. His lectures can be somewhat dry but he is very clear in his expectations and very fair. All around nice guy, easy class, clear expectations.

Worst teacher I've come accross so far. Takes attendence so you have to go to class but lectures are SO pointless. He rambles alot about nothing so its a bit hard to tell what he is actually trying to say. He's very specific with assignment procedures and format so make sure you read instructions!! The material in the course is really easy.

Hal was a very ineffective instructor. A friend and I ended up playing X's and O's or doodling with our eyes closed because the focus just wasn't there. VERY DRY. A lot of the questions on his exam were irrelevant, and he docked people unfair marks for the LAB FINAL PROJECT. Be wary if you have this prof, and don't feel bad if your mark is bad!

Hal is the WORST prof I've had. He is terribly outdated and makes no effort to make class itneresting. Takes attendance then gives poor grades to those with poor attendance, even though showing up to class is POINTLESS. Gives zeros on lab assignments if you don't show up. For someone teaching education, he knows very little about it. AVOID!!!!!!

K first off this is an awful class but core for education. Unfortunately Hal is also awful. He is amazing at saying lots of stuff without saying anything!! Monotone, boring, and pointless. Don't bother going to class. Common sense and a little bit of textbook is all you need

Very boring. Likes to hear himself talk. For someone who lectures about how to make teaching interesting and effective, he has no clue what is going on. Do the practice exams on WebCT because he takes the majority of the questions for his exams from there. Class is pointless. Save your self the time and skip. You'll learn more reading the text.

If you want to know everything about how not to teach... Hal's your guy!! His technology is hardly current, his instructions are like cracking a code, and he is a control freak! He spent an entire class explaining how he used overhead transparency to mark the midterm! Be prepared to self teach in this class. His lectures are inappropriate.

Hal is a nice guy, and I'm sorry to say it, but he is one of the worst instructors I've had to date. His lectures are soooo incredibly dry and boring... he rambles on about absolutely nothing and makes an hour long class feel like it will never end. While his assignments are fairly easy... a lot of the time they don't make any sense! VERY BORING!!!

He's a good guy. He's very specific about what he wants done, so if you listen you will score high in class. Just attend the labs, and pop in class every now and then. I didn't but the text either and still did quite well.

Terrible teacher for both lab and lecture. He makes assignments that are irrelevant to the class. BORING!!! takes way to long to explain in the lab and get mad if u go ahead and begin. Won't mark anything unless you attended the lab. In-class assignments were difficult to follow and could never find due dates on the internet. VERY BAD TEACHER.

Hal is very organized and trys his best to do his job. However, he gives out useless assignments continuously and you have to search for due dates.. I will be glad when it's over! Great for the Lab though, terrible lectures.

Hal is a complete and total moron. He does nothing but yammer on about nothing and is so outdated and behind the times that his course is absolutely laughable. He seems to think that he's amazingly computer literate when, in reality, he hasn't a clue what's going on. NEVER EVER take Hal as a professor.
