Comment:
I have taken 3 of Jack's classes and he is a once in a life-time type of professor. The man has undeniable Justice and Peace experience and is constantly saying insightful and pithy things during lecture. He offers what some people would describe as a "overly liberal" rhetoric but that's because his views are grounded in peace processes.

Jack is one of the more caring professors I have had at UST. He cares about his students and is beyond passionate about what he is teaching. He is hard on grammar for papers but his classes also watch documentaries and discuss often. Great teacher!!

Comment:
As a professor, he is very knowledgeable on justice and peace studies and taught me how to express my ideas well. I feel engaged in class, asking questions and thinking outside of the norm is encouraged which is fun. He is a great person who doesn't waste time trying to seem "above" everyone else. He genuinely cares about his students.

Comment:
THEO 421 was one of the toughest classes I have taken here at UST. I think of it more as an english class then a theology class. Does not read the content of the paper but is more concerned with the grammar. If not interested in justice and peace and are hoping to take an easy class do not take this class.

JPS 250 was an eye opening class that gets all types of people involved. It has a little something for everyone to learn about in their own fields, and rarely has any tests. Professor Jack, as he lets you call him, wants you to pass. He goes out of his way to try to get students involved and really cares about the world today. 10/10 favorite class.

EVERYONE WHO GIVES HIM A BAD REVIEW IS CLEARLY MISSING THE POINT. The point is to teach you how to open your mind and experience a way of thinking that may be hard to digest but is rooted in truth. Be receptive, ask difficult questions, don't get offended. This class calls US out on its immoral behavior and dumbfounding exceptionalism. Seek Truth!

Reading and writing assignments every day. Frequently refers to his opinions as "Jack-isms" rather than just saying opinions. I suppose that's typical for a prof that makes you buy the books he writes. Overall he's not terrible but the class seems to drag at times.

Jack was a great teacher. You can tell he really cares about the subject and wants his students to do well. I learned so much from this class, and would recommend it to every student at UST. You have readings due most classes, but they are usually not difficult. Loved this class!

Great guy but the class is boring as hell. The lessons are redundant and is still don't know what the purpose of the class is, it is literally him talking about his life the whole time. The notes are impossible to follow but he lets you use note cards on the 2 tests you will take. Boring af but easy

Class was good at first. Then got super boring/annoying. You read articles and do summaries for every class and his views are always pushed on yours. Would NOT recommend unless you are also a liberal tree-hugger.

I loved jack! He changed a lot of my beliefs and encouraged people to be more open minded. He did talk about his beliefs but he wasn't closed minded to those who disagreed and respected a different point of view. A truly amazing guy.

Jack is very liberal. You write for every class but get no feedback. Kind of pushy on some of his views. Not all homework or discussions exactly relevant. Seems more interested in his views than teaching. You read almost exclusively his books. Ok class if you can get through the rhetoric.

Jack is great! He's extremely knowledgable and very passionate not only about teaching but about justice and peace studies. Has stories up his sleeves and he'll tell you all of them. You watch a lot of movies, and despite being "green" barely lets us go outside, but still very nice guy, HUGE paper (30 pages) but broken down into steps so it's ok

Jack is a great guy and worth getting to know. He is very understanding and laid back. I thought he was too easy, but that is sort of a weird thing to complain about. Overall, it would ALWAYS be worth taking one if his classes!

Absolutely loved his class, it was very interesting although it is a very liberal subject and it shows clearly in this and he wrote a lot of his own stuff so it is a little annoying but i still loved this class sooooo much

Good teacher and very funny, but all of the material used in class is stuff he wrote himself, which, undenyably, becomes a bit one-sided at times.
