Jade is the first instructor in two years at CSUF to take an interest me and my progress. She knows & teaches art and design elements.She is expert at color mixing and effectively demos that to students. Her crits are honest, constructive & objective. I am grateful to her cause I almost quit and would have if I had listened to Cho more.

No one works harder than this teacher. At the drop of a hat she will help you with the smallest technical problem or the biggest adviser/schedule TDA overhaul. If you haven't taken her you are missing out. She is what all art programs should be about. And her work is brilliant too.

Jade is the best instructor here, tied with Kyung Cho. She is insightful, technically strong, clear in her ideas, and not afraid to tell you what she thinks. If you can't handle criticism, don't take her, or Cho for that matter. If your art is menaingful and well executed works, you have a desire to improve, and can take criticism, she's perfect.

To be honest, I wasn't sure what to make of Jade early on. I thought her critiques were harsh in comparison to other professors. Turned out that it was exactly the kick in the butt that a LOT of us need. GREAT professor, particularly if you are truly interested in improving your concept.

I have never before had such negative experience with a professor. I found her comments needlessly destructive. She seems to have her own agenda which gets in the way of being objective during crits. She seems to pick favorite students. She is not supportive. Very unpleasant experience...steer clear people!

I enrolled in her first thesis seminar and it was terrible because she didn't know how to teach it. Most of the students dropped out and signed up with other instructors. For the ones who did not, she demeaned with her arrogance and psuedo- intellectualism.

Doesn't write clearly. Too caught up in art jargon. Self-serving politics. Seems like she must have had a sense of humor a long time ago; gone now. A follower and not a creator. Get her to show you her pre-California work, which was interesting and unpretentious.

Jade is very helpful and she's just so lovable. I have to say that painting still-lifes was driving me insane by the end of the semester. I wish she would've let us paint a different kind of subject matter besides still-lifes.
