Comment:

Dr. Otte is the reason I chose to get my major in history rather than English literature. His lectures were awesome: enlightening, provocative, intellectual, and delightful. I liked his choice of reading material and still remember a lot of the ideas (I graduated in 1980). I'd take a class from him again if I could.

Comment:

I took Dr Otte's Western Civ class 35 years ago. Strangely, I find myself thinking about him today. He honestly changed my life! I still remember ideas he taught me (e.g. cuius regio, eius religio.) I ended up majoring in history and while I pursued a different career path, I studied history as an enjoyable hobby my whole life. Thank you Dr Otte!

Do not take this teacher! He should have retired years ago, as he repeats himself too much, does not give back grades, goes back on his word. The tests wouldn't be that bad if he knew what he taught prior to them... he put questions on the test that we didn't cover and messed up people's grades.

To say that he is a nazi is both insulting and idiotic. He is getting up there in years and tends to repeat himself too much but Dr. Otte has a tremendous wealth of knowledge. He is a good man and still has a lot to offer as a professor.
