She fingerspells too fast. And don't be late! She starts all tests at the stroke of the clock at the beginning of class. I went to every class and did all work and got a D. Very disappointing

Very good professor. Don't think this will be an easy A. You have to work for your grade. Quizzes each class. Expect to attend ASL funtions around town. Overall, I liked the professor & I learned quite a bit

I love this class! It is true that you have to be ready/willing/and eager to learn. The class goes very quick and you have to bring your A game to every class. I think that she is very nice and good professor but it is very obvious who she does and doesn't like.If you come to class, try, and ask for help when you need it she tends to like you.

This IS NOT a class for people who think they want to get an easy grade. It is by all means a second language, and you shouldn't expect it to be easy. I felt she was an amazing professor and did a very nice job teaching, but if you want to learn, you must teach yourself too. Success comes from learning to teach yourself. (:

DON'T TAKE HER! SHE'S CRAZY! SHE HAS AN ATTITUDE PROBLEM W/ SOME STUDENTS AND CAN BE VERY RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL. IF YOU DON'T LEARN WELL FROM A BOOK! AVOID THIS CLASS! SHE TEACHERS TO FAST READERS AND QUICK LEARNERS ONLY! PLUS MUST BE ABLE TO DEVOTE ALL! YOUR TIME TO THIS CLASS, EVEN "ME TIME" (WEEKENDS). MUST ATTEND ASL EVENTS AND MEET PEOPLE.

She's nice but BEWARE! If you can take ASL with another teacher, I HIGHLY recommend it. She doesn't really teach, so expect to teach yourself. Thank GOD for ASL Browser! She will get upset when you ask questions/ don't understand & will want you to ask someone else in class for help rather than her. AVOID if possible. If not, GOOD LUCK!

great ASL prof! she is very sweet and helpful. you must read the syllabus, it has all the info on assignments. it might help if you knew the ASL alphabet before taking the class, but you will learn a lot during the semester. it could be overwhelming, but as long as you practice you should be fine. dont take it if you are just looking for an easy A.

This class is by far the hardest INTRO class I have ever taken...and I have over 150 college credit hours if that gives you any indication of the difficulty of this material. Prior to this class I had no experience with ASL...before taking this class/professor ask around. I got a B..and did not slack at all...the class is tough and so is she.

Dr. Brigham was a wonderful instructor! She is super sweet and funny. You MUST study, though. She expects you to know how to sign the vocab taught in class the week before. Be prepared for signing presentations, and rather difficult tests. Read the syllabus CAREFULLY, she sticks to it. Really nice lady and always willing to help out students.

For a beginning class, this was too hard.No talking. You need to know ASL well before you take this, practice a bunch, go to all the classes, go to all the deaf actovities, interact with Deaf alot.Students have mixed feelings about her-I did learn but if I take a class like this again I would go to SAC, not UTSA,and not from this instructor.

Brain overload the first day of class. You must participate to be great in all things. You must be ahead of the game before the first class,Once class begins there is no verbal at all. Be sure you write your honors statement on all work to be turned in. If you have to play catch-up your sunk. Be sure to make your "Deaf activities"

I really liked this class, but I know some students have mixed feelings about the instructor. This is defnitely not a blow off, or an easy A. The syllabus is the same for any ASL class that you take, so it's not that her class is harder than the others. I learned a lot in a short amount of time, and as we all know, that's what really matters.

Teacher is nice when she wants to be. She makes the class harder than it should be. During the semester I took this class, students from other schools said that the stuff we are doing is for the more advanced ASL classes. Teacher expections too much for what the class is.
