She works around the MyAccountingLab website which is pretty good. There are ways u can check, there's the textbook option and it helps to read the chapters before hand. Read the chapters!!! She isn't too heavy on participation and she does offer extra credit. Overall good experience

Her expectations for grading are very unclear. She gave us a lot of freedom but then marked off for missing specific points she wanted. She seemed to grade mostly on smaller details like formatting rather than our grasp of the larger concepts. If you don't like/are not good at writing, she will not help you; she only make you hate it more.

Comment:
Her lectures focus on broad concepts, but she grades on nit-picky details like formatting. She would say things like "There's no one right answer" but then massacre your grade when you didn't touch on the specific things she wanted. Worst of all, she has a terrible attitude towards teaching and her students. She doesn't seem to like teaching.

WORST teacher have ever had. Tough class material and paper with not helpful feedback. Unfair and strict grading on projects. Absolute authority to challenge. It does not make any sense to take this class and cannot graduate if fail. WPC should consider it seriously.

Professor Samuels is one of the hardest professors I've ever had, and I'm in the final quarter of a Master's program. She provides a lot of information to help us with projects, but it's VERY difficult to determine what she wants. She cares WAY too much about specific details that it is essentially impossible to do anything correct in her class.

She is without a doubt the worst professor I've ever had. Her grading is so strict and specific that no one can ever do well on any assignment. Most of all, she doesn't seem to enjoy the class, her students, or teaching in general. Her feedback is very condescending, and her only response to questions is to go back and look at her lectures. Awful!

Very unclear grading, not graded on what was told is the direction and had mistakes in the source documents. Feedback that was given that seemed like it did not go with the paper

Great professor. The lectures can be a bit dry at times, but she is a great instructor who is very knowledgable, enthusiatic, and helpful. Very clear grading criteria, and an A is easily achevable if you put in the work. Would definitely take her class again!

Unclear grader, very little feedback given. We all wondered if she even read our papers. She would mark us off for not having a concept that had a whole page in the paper dedicated to it. I wouldn't be as upset if she said we didn't do it correctly, but she said we didnt mention it at all. Shes also uses tons of filler words in lectures! watch out

Took this class session A and it was a lot easier than expected. Stay on top of the lectures and homework and study the practice exams. Didn't use the textbook at all and I still got an A+.

Professor Samuels is a great professor. I learned the material a lot better in her class than I did in my ACC232 class because she went over practice problems in class and focused on WHY rather than HOW. Her tests are FAIR and if you put in the work, go to class, and pay attention, you will succeed. Performance is based on the effort you put in.

She does not teach the concept. She only goes over the practice problems explaining which concept can be applied. I rather leave college than take classes with her.

Professor Samuels is a great instructor. I was able to understand accounting, thanks to her. She takes attendance for a grade, but you don't need to buy the textbook. She was always willing to help during office hours and kept the class updated on her grade. She gives great study guides for her tests. She made the 7:30 a.m. worth it.

She was a great instructor: very knowledgeable, clear, and approachable. She teaches mainly through example problems and walks around to answer questions before doing them on the doc cam. But don't forget the random factoids (don't worry there aren't a ton, but take notes)- they come up on tests even if they are not directly mentioned in review.

Professor Samuels was a wonderful instructor. She was very clear in her lessons and provided the power points online for students to work right along with her, and those came in handy once tests came around. The study guides are good but you really have to know the material to get 100%. As long as you do the homework and work hard you will be fine.

The class was good, but it just takes alot of your time. Weekly homework, Weekly quiz, 2 major projects, 3 exams. The actually book is not necessary however the solid footing and course materials are. Nice teacher and very helpful but she has left ASU

Professor Samuels was very clear, she used great examples of situations that made learning the material a little easier. She has a great sense of humor, her lectures are more fun and interesting than you might expect - as for the lab portion, bring your materials and show up - you are graded on attendance, and there's a quiz every Friday.

Janet is great! She really does have a passion for accounting and I learned so much from this class. Utilize all the resources she gives you, esp. review videos and practice problems. She gives about 4 extra credit opportunities and she WANTS you to do well! Take her class, it's great!
