Weird guy, but a good professor. You have to be stupid to fail his class or get less than a C+. He doesn't make you copy down a lot of notes and what's on his exams you can find straight from the textbook. Other than that just do his extra credit paper and you'll be fine, doesn't take much to get a good grade here.

I took this class bcus it had raving comment about Dr Jay..well all I have to say is that he is a very weird/ odd guy. It took him over the summer and I guess it was worth it. But for a regular semester I might shoot myself!

Dr Jay is a great Prof, His lectures are fun and you learn alot. 3 tests during the summer session and thats it. No HW, his re-views are great and they truly prepare you for the tests. he may drift of topic sometimes, but thats part of his charm. take his class you won't regret it!

at first i thought taking him was easy: he joked a lot, and review before the test, not required text books... but...just pass the class it easy, but not at all if you want a good grade

I don't think there is one word to describe him. He can be boring especially the 3 hour class I took. He is funny, he jokes a lot with students. He stop a lot to drink his water! He does not stay on track..but not at all hard..just exams, no homework, just exams. Get the textbook you will use it.

Prof. Mullin's class its interesting, fun, and somewhat easy. He gives exams and a final paper. There is no guessing in the exams, it all comes from his lectures and his book, the only reason for you not to get an A is if you dont read or study. Having that said i must add he is odd, definately a very 'unique' individual.

He tries his hardest to make the class interesting for an Intro sociology course. He is definitely an eccentric and unusual individual because he laughs at odd things. His tests are not hard, they do follow in line with his book. There were 2 tests, a paper and a Final. His Final was trickier than his tests, but study from the book.

He is by far one of the best teachers I have had in my entire life. He's a real human being rather than a robotic teacher, which I appreciate. Sure, he goes off topic every now and then, but his quality of teaching makes up for it and his personality makes the class fun. He's pretty damn good looking, too.

If Jeff Goldblum was a Sociology professor, he'd be like Jay Mullen. Eccentric, weird, funny and mad sexy.

Nice professor but not fair enough. He will give you a good grade if you talk to him more often. I did well on my tests and never been absent. But my grade is still lower than someone who doesnt do good on tests and always come to class late. You want a good grade, get his attention and participate more.

If you're complaining about Jay Mullin, you should stop taking classes until you're ready for college. Acing his class merely requires showing up, paying attention, and actually thinking. His exams are tough but straightforward. He's brilliant and quirky, and the workload is minimal. I reiterate, just put in some effort and THINK and you'll do well

He wrote the textbooks we used in class. If you read them, it is written the same way he talks, very eccentric yet funny. But don't study for notes, those are just pointers. His tests come from the book, his book, his exam. It's all HIS, your notes will be just words, and stories that he tells. I would say "easy to get B+, hard to get an A."

Maybe I was late a lot, which is why I got a B. His tests are middle of the pack , and you need to study. In summer class there were no breaks. He can be interesting to talk to and will make you think. This is my first sociology class, so if there are better professors take those but he's not bad.
