this class is SO easy however, do NOT be late to class. i'm a good student and i do all my work and she gives me good grades on my paper but i got a C on the midterm, and i think it's because i'm always 5-10 mins late to class. all she does is talk about irrelevant things in class and no one really understands if theres hw or not. but take her!

The easiest A to bump up your GPA. Students consistently arrived up to 1 hour late and she will interrupt the lecture to ask them to be sure to sign-in. Unbelievable! You have to deal with a full semester of rambling by an old irish lady, losing her train of thought and going off on a tangent. Barely learned anything over 5 months. #boredom!

I got very little out of this class. She's very subjective. If she thinks you're organized and engaged, and if you can write a decent essay, you'll get an A. She often forgets what she assigns, which leads to most of the students not knowing what's going on in the class. Grading is supposedly based on improvement through the semester.

She is really strict on grammar and structure, but will allow students to revise essays for a better grade. She expects students to have a strong grasp of writing and composition before entering the class. Like someone said earlier, if you are good at writing, you will do fine.

She's a good teacher, I wasn't not interested into grammar prior to adding the class, but don't be mistaken because she is hard. She is also somewhat moody, and would talk smack to students sometimes, so if you can't handle that, don't add. I got a C for my midterm grade and bumped it up to an A. The trick is office hours and use essay examples.

If you already know how to user proper grammar and write a formal essay, take Meehan and get in good with her right away, you will get an A. If you don't already know how to use proper grammar and write a formal essay and are expecting her to teach you to do these things...well, you're in for quite a surprise.

This lady needs SERIOUS help; she has no idea about what's going on in her own class. She asks for assignments that were never assigned; yet, she doesn't collect anything that was actually asked to be turned in. You will have no clue if your passing her class or not because she doesn't even keep track of grades what so ever... BAD BAD teacher

ok. this woman is really a nice person, but she is SCATTERBRAINED!!! i got an A in the class, but only b/c i was constantly asking her and everyone else in the class a million questions, because nobody ever knew what was going on. She's the kind of person you can never get a read on. if you strive off of organization and points that add up to a good grade, this is NOT the teacher for you. if you are stuck with her, show her that you really care and u will succeed. thats what i did, and i got an A!

Yikes. YIKES, I tell you! The woman can't complete a sentence because she wanders off on an ungodly amount of tangents. She rambles about Beowulf and Edmund Spenser and unsuccessfully attempts to relate these pieces to the sixties or the war in Iraq. If you love literature and the English language and want to continue doing so, avoid her classes.

I wouldn't be so harsh as the other students. She has an interesting perspective. She was educated by Irish Catholic nuns in Ireland. She has a classical education. I think she has something valuable to offer. She expects alot of her students. This can raise them to excellency. Give her a chance!
