Comment:

This class is easy if you pay attention and are good at memorizing vocabulary. It consists of reading short stories, answering questionsdiscussing them in class and then taking quizzes and tests about them. She has a lax attendance policy which is nice, but you mostly have to go to class if you want to understand what the stories are about.

Comment:

Dr. Mount is the sweetest southern lady. Quizzes and tests are very easy if you follow her study suggestions. The class is interesting and I learned a lot! Very important to participate - she keeps track of who speaks in class every day.

Very nice lady but terrible accent. Class requires a lot of busywork/homework, but her tests and quizzes are easy. Attendance is mandatory but you get bonus points for it!

I was worried about taking a high level Spanish with this teacher, especially when most of the ratings on here were not good. But all of the information comes right from the book and the stories are pretty easy to read. The vocab quizzes each week are not hard and her tests really aren't too bad. She is very helpful if you have questions!

A very nice lady, but pretty monotone and goes pretty much right from the book. But the up side is the book is pretty small and easy to understand and study for tests. 10 vocab quizzes and 3 semi-hard tests with a comprehensive final.

Professor Mount is such a sweet lady! She is very easy to understand even though the class is taught mostly in Spanish. She is great with explaining vocabulary and letting you know exactly what will be on the exams! She highly encourages participation and is always there to help you if you need it.

Comment:

VERY boring, monotone class. She is so redundant & her grading policy is too strict. Very unclear when it comes to assignments. I dreaded this early class every day. Attendance is mandatory or you lose 2 points off your final grade. Tests are graded way too strict. Lots of projects worth only 2 points. Run away from this class!

I really enjoyed Profesora Mount. The class is mostly taught in Spanish but she is easy to understand.The exams are mostly vocab with some content from the stories we read.She gives vocab quizzes weakly but they are not difficult if you study. Attendance and is mandatory. If you don't miss a class she adds 2 points to average.I recommend this class

Sweetest southern lady! So cute and says the funniest stuff! The class is pretty heavy workload but you can get by doing the bare minimum (ie not even reading the stories) so the amount of work you do is pretty much up to you. Not a very hard class. Vocab quizzes help your grade if you study for them like 10 mins. You can get a B with little effort

Mount is a sweet lady and means well, but she is very hard to understand. Half the time I had to get my assignments from other students because she is so unclear. Her tests are somewhat difficult and a little unfair. Her grading is extremely strict. This class is not impossible, but it's definitely a challenge.

She is a sweet woman who cares about teaching. Her grading is a bit all over the place- it doesn't seem like she has a uniform policy. Yes, she has a thick Southern accent, so you don't want to pick up pronunciations from her, but as long as you already have a strong Spanish background, it will be fine. I'd take a class of hers again.

well, she has a strong southern accent, so you wont learn how to sound spanish. very straightforward. she reminds me of a kindergarten teacher. strict attendance policy which really sucks because it is not necessary to go. pretty easy, just know the vocab and write down the synonyms she uses when discussing vocab because they WILL be on tests!

This lady rates one under McGibboney as being one of the worst teachers at UNCW. Id rather take a 300 level Chemistry class as an elective than sit in another one of her classes. If you have to take her, do it soon before her dementia sets into the next level...This lady doesnt know if she is coming or going!!!!
