As somebody who read reviews for him before this year, I had thought this was going to be a pretty easy class for a required english credit. WRONG. His lectures are incredibly boring and the man hates giving As. He told me to my face in Office Hours that he "doesn't really give As". If you're cool with a solid B with minimal work then take it.

Terrible professor. Never responds to emails, never is in his office hours, tests and papers are graded unfairly, expects us to read 500 pages a night and if you don't he will 100% call you stupid in front of the whole class. I am warning you all to not take this class under any circumstance.

Professor Hamilton is a very funny man. I really though Latin was my most difficult class last semester- I didn't get above a C+ on any quiz or test, but I ended up with an A-... your grade in the class is in no way related to your grades over the course of the semester. He keeps class very entertaining, and I'd highly recommend him

he really was one of the funniest professors I ever had in my 4 years. He sits slumped in his chairs, can't remember things and makes learning about these old ass subjects interesting and relevant.

Hamilton has forgotten more about classics than most professors have ever learned. He gets a bad rap from some because he tends to play favorites, but he's always available to meet with any students, past or current, for assistance and tutoring.
