Comment:

This teacher is more of a coach than an instructor. He will encourage you to teach the subject to yourself. My biggest problem with this class is that we were granted less than half a class period for every exam, and there were only four exams, each weighing heavily on your grade. There simply wasn't enough time to answer all the questions.

Statistics is not easy. I find it more difficult than calculus. Expect to work hard. Do all homework even though we are not required to turn in the homework. 10 chapters to cover. It was a lot of materials. I would give Mr. Sayer somewhere between B+ to A- for his teaching.

Do NOT take this guys class. I asked him where he got a certain number from, and his answer was, "well i have the teacher's book and the answers are given to me." After that another student asked him to explain because that would help the majority of the class, he didn't have the time. In a two hour class....

It's hard to find a professor who doesn't care about attendance nowadays. His class is perfect for you if you already know the math, or if you can learn in your own. He grades fairly and gives extra credit on every exam. 90% of the grade from exam, you don't need to do the homework nor he'd gives you credit on it. =D

His teaching styles are horrible. Actually, I wouldn't call them "teaching" styles because he does not teach; he simply reads directly from the book. He does not answer questions in class nor during his office hours. If you are in need of help, he will refer you to the book. He also forgets a lot of things and makes many errors.

Fairly easy class to be honest. I took a test with four questions and didn't even answer two of them and still got a 90% just for trying. He' not really that good of a teacher but the material isn't super difficult and he is a very generous grader especially for a math teacher

he is the worst teacher in the F-ing world! he is mean and rude and not patient at all. if u need someone who is going to take the time to really teach u, he aint ur guy!

Do not take his class. He teaches out of the book using the same confusing examples. Your grade is strictly based on your test results and he has little patience for slow learners. Only up side is that he gives extra credit on test but they are brain twisters. Worst professor yet that I have taken at Chabot.

Took it on a 7-week class.The course is hard and this teacher made it more hard.Gave examples from the book but he has different procedures on how to solve the problem.Gave lot of HW's but he doesnt give points. Xtra credit in quizzes but you have to squeeze ur brains out to find the answer.Overall,I dont recommend this teacher specially in summer.

Mr. Sayer's course is very unforgiving. Its fast paced and unrelenting. The lectures in the class are not of much help most of the time, so its best to study and practice from the book. Don't expect a smooth ride in his course, his expectations are sometimes unclear and your work will be marked incorrect even if you arrived at the correct answer.

Mr. Sayer treats college students as adults; no spoon feeding. Follows a rapid paced syllabus - very fast classroom environment. Loves tutoring struggling students. He collects homework, but doesn't grade it. He quizes for extra credit. Attendance is not required. Pass the tests, pass the class. ADVICE - Stay ahead, read next section before class.

Horrible Horrible teacher. reiterates everything directly out of the book with no explanation. Grades are all based on tests so if you do badly on the tests ur screwed. Do not take this teacher! You'll be sorry you did.

While he can be a tad unapproachable, you have to do the work even if you feel dumb ask him questions. He is more like the professors you will run into at the 4 year universities. I think he's hard but he gives extra credit on every test. His test go exactaly by the assigned homework problems. But it's entirely up to you to get the help you need.
