He grades really fair. It's a short story class and he allows to post random writings and stuff whenever we want just for fun. Just shows he cares a lot about his students and their success. I feel like you should really only take this class if you are an already experienced writer. He's not good with non-writers. Also, lots of discussion boards

You could definitely tell that he was used to teaching classes online. He gave us a TON of busy work and we spent most of class time just sitting and staring at each other. I was taking Nonfiction and this class at the same time, got an A in that class and a D in this one.

I had his class. He was the most cheerful professor I had at MSU. He was going through a rough time outside of the class but he always walked into the classroom with a smile on his face. He interacted with the students well and he actually cared about your writing. He didn't just give you a grade and move on.

I took Cover's online ENG 215 class. It was a very difficult class. You must stay up and must be able to write believable fiction. If it's not believable, you won't do well on the two stories (I took it in the summer, 3 stories for Fall/Spring). Ask for help when you need it and you should be fine.

I took his online course, and it was a disaster. Very confusing and disorganized. It takes him almost a week to get back to you via email if you have a question. Maybe he's a good teacher in the classroom, but certainly not online.

A good guy, but a terrible teacher. Too much work for a freshman english class. I have friends that have only had to write 2 papers so far, while we're on #5 now. It's BS. And it's not fair that we have to do this much work.

The class starts with lots of reading, but once you start writing your story it's pretty easy. LOTS of printing and critiquing, but nothing that requires too much concentration.

Nice guy but doesn't teach too much. Not very clear. But he is always availalbe to help if you need it. If your a good writter you'll do fine... if not then find another teacher to learn from.
