Comment:

One of my favorite professors at PCC! Friendly, approachable, caring, and positive. Her class is well thought-out and organized. There are tests, papers, group work, and presentation. Pay attention to her lectures and write notes from the ppt for the tests. Wants all of her students to do well. Even provides resources for outside of the classroom!!

Great professor! I loved her teaching style. Her class is very organized- clear syllabus and assignment rubric. She is extremely approachable- answers question with patience and care. Well balanced class- she expects attendance and class participation. There are in-class group projects, multiple choice tests, written assignments, and presentations.

Take this class with Prof Cashell! you get to relive your childhood by reading children's illustration books! loved this class. graded on writing assignments, group projects, presentations, participation/attendance. material on the tests are from her lectures. she gives great feedback on all of your written assignments! very sweet and approachable!

Comment:

Prof Cashell is very knowledgeable in the field. In Child Development, empathy and patience are a must and she definitely have plenty of both. Great human being. Not many people have understanding or the qualities to be an effective, respected child development specialist. She makes her classes interesting and engaging with hands-on projects.

Prof Cashell is a very caring person and wants her students to succeed. She is very engaging and always available to answer any question you may have. 3-4 multiple choice tests-from lectures but do read the textbooks- plus 2-3 papers/presentation. Group Projects. Attendance and Participation matters. Gives feedback. Very positive & supportive.

Often times her lectures were interesting and common sense, but sometimes she would go off into these long irreverent topics. I do think she is rather insecure about testings and cheating. She will walk around the room watching everyone. very distracting. She also has 0 tolerance for late work, and is unaccommodating at times and often forgets.

Professor Cashell is a super sweet woman. Her assignments are enjoyable and her tests are based on the lecture & reading. If you enjoy the subject & major then you'll love the class. This is definitely a class where you get what you give. Ask questions and she'll give you suggestions and advice. Her books aren't expensive & the hw isn't difficult.

I loved this class. The test were based on the book and lecture. You don't even need to read the book. We had a couple of assignments that were easy. I like that I learned and that there were group discussions and projects. She also had a very clear syllabus and was very organized.

This could have been a great class, but she had no clue what she was doing. I learned nothing, never studied for the tests and faked most of my work. She vowed that tests would not be open book so we could use electronic versions of the text, then made the second test open book and told most of us we were out of luck - rude.

Professor is great. She is very straight forward with the class topic. She will help you if you ask her to help you. Test are easy, answers are in the notes that she gives you, but still need to read the chapters. Follows her syllabus. One late slip for a late assignment.If you attend every class you will do great.I wish she taught more classes.

Not to much assgmnt,total 5 for whole semester and it is usefull for our carrier. she gave us 3 multiple choice and true false tests. She always come on time. Not so much fun in the class, but not boring. Do all her assgmnt and all working class and A will in ur hand as long as u good at the test too.

She is one of the worst professors I have come across in my college career. She keeps you late everyday and treats her class like 5 year olds. I can't say she covered anything that I didn't already know or that wasn't common sense. I'm not even sure if she actually likes children. And ENOUGH about Head Start already!

Super easy class. Just read the book.3 tests spread out non-cumulative. It is all basically common sense, if you donn't know half this stuff you shouldn't be teaching children anyway. One topic paper worth 100 points/5 pages and a 3 min presentation. Who cares if she talks a bit about Head Start Program...we talk about what we know,right?

I was in her Child Development Language and Literacy class the first semester she taught it in 2005. I absolutely adore her. Every information she gave in class is useful to this date. She may seem tough but all you really need to do is the work and you'll be just fine. She is both challenging and motivating.
