It is a shame Metts will be retiring this year. He is an incredible professor and even more amazing person. His positive attitude is humbling and his desire for students to understand the subject is sincere. I was convinced I would fail this course until I took it. The University is losing a true educator.

Probably one of the best professors you'll ever have. Explains the material extremely well and uses entertaining examples to go with it. Unfortunate that he is retiring so get him while you still have the chance!!

Very funny and smart teacher. Econ 102 is possibly the most boring class you will ever take but with him he will keep you awake by cracking jokes and providing great examples. You have 2 tests all semester which are exact copies of every other week homework sets so memorize the homework sets and you will ace the testes and the class.

Dr. Metts is probably the only dude who could incorporate a 20 sack into an econ problem and have it make sense. Even tho he may look old, he's far younger than he looks. He explains econ in a way we can relate and makes everything funny. This guy is great, if ur gonna take econ 102 and wanna learn it from a real mc take METTS!

To be honest economics is a hard class so its not all the teacher. My only problem with him was the tests. The tests always took longer than the time allowed and the study guide was not helpful. He is willing to work outside of class with your though.

If you're looking for someone to explain economics in a sensible way, don't take this professor. He is slow, goes off on tangents, and is very disorganized in his teaching style. Don't let his wheelchair fool you into feeling sympathy for him. This guy was not meant to teach. Enough said!

Dr. Metts is both an amazing teacher and individual. He is probably the most inspiring person I've ever met. He is passionate about his subject--anything that has to do with econ development. He loves teaching and cares about his students. I'd recommend his classes to any one.
