Tate is an amazing teacher. I've learned so much from her class this semester. You do have homework almost every night, but the homework is pretty easy once you get into the swing of things and is helpful to the class. A lot of fun activities and movies for homework as well.

I LOVE Profe Tate! She was my first Spanish teacher at Berry and she helped to make the transition from High School to Collegiate level Spanish very easy. She does assign a lot of homework, but it's all fun. I mean it! Her tests and quizzes are difficult but not impossible if you study. Profe is very willing to help you out as well! Take her!!!

This class was difficult but Tate is awesome. She is super understanding and she is completely willing to help. She makes sure everyone is up to pace and really cares about her students. She sometimes gives pop quizzes but if you do your homework (which is a grade) then you will do well on them. Her tests are hard but manageable

Dr. Tate speaks very clearly, is very very nice, and will help you if you ask her for it. She expects extremely good grammar, but if you practice and study hard, you can get a good grade. It is definitely a difficult class, but I highly recommend her as a professor if you are interested in learning Spanish.

Amazing teacher. Very challenging, but she speaks very clearly. She expects a lot, so don't just take this class to breeze by. Lots of reading, but Dr. Tate tells you what she wants to know for the tests. Take notes!!!

Comment:

This was my sixth year of Spanish classes and she has been one of the best teachers. Because she always speaks in Spanish and requires the same of her students really helps with improving their speaking skills, which a lot of my previous Spanish classes have lacked. She's really nice and very willing to help.

She is helpful, and it is needed unless you are fluent. She grades gen ed classes like upper division, which is a bit excessive considering most students in there are only there because it is required. definately take her if you are a spanish major/minor. avoid her otherwise

Dr. Tate is a great, caring professor. She keeps class entertaining too. Do note that her homework assignments are demanding. This isn't a slack class whatsoever. Make sure you keep up with your assignments, show up to all classes even if you are allowed to skip some, and spend time reviewing each night. It is really easy to get behind in there.

I took Spanish for seven years before I took this class with Tate. I don't think Spanish was ever presented in a way that I could understand it until I took it with her. She's very helpful and will definitely help you if you need it. She also knows the language well and tells cool stories about countries she's traveled to. Good professor.

Dr. Tate is the very definition of the perfect professor. She is my mentor, my light, my everything. She is a fantasic person and teacher and she's always willing to help. Thanks to her- my level of spanish has increased as well as my interest in the subject. I'd rate her an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. Plus her eyes shine like stars.

I did not like her as a teach. She was mean and rude to me. I worked my hardest and even went to her with problems but she seemed very unwilling to help. I dont know how i would have gotten thru that class if it wasnt for my classmates who were more willing to help me then she was.
