Comment:

Karti does a good job explaining the material, but the biggest problem is he shames students who asks a question and doesn't understand what he said. Doesn't really make you want to go to office hours or talk to him.

Definitely knowledgeable but he constantly cuts you off while you're asking a question and condescends for no reason rather than teaching. Seriously he just glances over the content and is only there to dish out grades and commentary. Completely unhelpful and utterly worthless.

Comment:

The lecture is clear and understandable. Sometimes it's difficult to follow cuz he draw the circuits too fast . If you can't catch up during lecture, he also record his lectures and post it on canvas (as well as lecture notes). The test is not surprisingly hard if you actually understand every concepts. Overall, 100% recommend to take Dr. Karti :D

Not easy, but that's not the reason you would be in ECE... His teaching style is amazing. I have taken courses at Stanford and SJSU, and he is still one of the best professors I've had. Very smart, teaches you the fundamentals for important courses. If you take his class, give it your best effort and you'll thank Mayaram later. Also took ECE203

This is probably one of the best undergrad teachers for ECE that you could possibly have. Obviously cares about your grade and will thoroughly explain anything that you have troubles with. Very organized notes, and just an overall good class.

Karti is a great teacher. He genuinely cares about student learning and structures his class in a way that supports that. If you don't try you won't pass this class, but you're in engineering, you should be used to that. As long as you attend lectures/recitations/review sessions and do all of the homework you should get an A.

Comment:

Hands down the best professor I've had in 3 years of ECE. Not only are his lectures probably the most well structured and presented lectures I've seen, but he is also very friendly and makes an effort to get to know everyone in his classes. While this is the last class I'll have with him, I'd sit in on his lectures if he teaches ECE422/423 again.

Incredible teacher with a love for students. Very clear and helpful on understanding students questions as well as describing new concepts. The class was so well put together and organized that I was amazed! Favorite teacher of 3 years of college so far!

Tough class. Taught the material fairly well but the exams were very tricky. Average class struggled overall with doing well. The textbook hurt more than it helped, and was replaced for the upcoming year. His class notes are VERY helpful so read those!

Watch out, if you get in Karti's cross-hairs you'll be teased in class all term long, but remember its all in good fun. He is extremely helpful during office hours and is a fair grader. If you try hard he will give you the benefit of the doubt on tests and homework. I think the difficulty level of this class is exaggerated and hyped up a lot.

guy from India. MS In UCB...very very hard. well the subject itself is hard. i recomend not thake 422 and 423 in osu. he is very helpful in office hour.
