She doesnt give proper guidlines on what she wants for her assignments and projects. If she doesnt understand your concept (in front of you shell tell you how great you do) she will grade you poorly. You can attend every class and participate and will still not get 100% on attendance.

It seems like if she doesnt like or understand your concept fully she marks you poorly. Her assignment sheets were oddly worded at times and didnt fully explain the assignments in a way to comprehend them well and not asking her questions every 5 min about each step. Based on her comments I understood criteria just didnt express it properly.

She does teach some useful information, but her project outlines are very difficult to understand. Even when i asked her to elaborate, I had to take a guess at what she was looking for causing assignments to do poorly or be late. group assignment were assigned but were unnecessary to be done as a group. tldr; only take if you need the class

She was the first fine arts prof I've ever had (I am a business student). She is super chill and friendly. I highly recommend her. Her class is structured in a unorthodox way, but you get a lot of autonomy and freedom to choose what you want to shoot. Not exactly an easy A, but hey art ain't easy.

Kira helped me a lot in this class especially when I did not know anything about photography. All you have to do is talk to her and she will give you chances and help you with your ideas. Kira had a lot of patience with me and helped me so much.

Materials for the class are about $200+tuition which she compares to buying a marketing book. She forgets that most of us have other ways of getting that without paying for it. Doesnt know how to teach and the projects are developed on ur time. Its risky and SUPER TIME CONSUMING, learnt nothing, youll waste your developing paper on "test trips"

This class was a joke. Kira set a ridiculous amount of work, often expecting several projects due the same day. She was unavailable to provide guidance any time outside of class, took days to reply to emails and used actual class time inefficiently and ineffectively. She didn't take the time to properly teach techniques yet demanded perfection.

I took this class because I love video. I don't appreciate being taught it by someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. She's unhelpful, doesn't give constructive criticism, her expectations never stay the same week to week and her deadlines for projects are completely unreasonable. I felt cheated.

Kira is fantastic! She is very helpful, clear and fun! She is very willing to help students who are struggling and explains techniques in a way which is easy to understand and apply. However, sometimes her lectures can become a little boring and drawn-out. Over all, Kira is definitely worth taking.

Kira is a nice person but I didn't find her very helpful. I am experienced in photography and I had to take the first course as a prereq. Boooring! Do not take this class if you are experienced because you learn NOTHING. One good thing however, is that she moves at a fast pace in the darkroom unlike the other photography teacher that I heard about.

She is a great teacher, and an easy marker too if ur projects r done timely. Photo 1 is an easy course, but u really need to put both thought and time into it. BTW, professional photographer requires thought and time too. I recommend her to thoes who really wanna get into the professional field.

She only wants your work a certain way, but won't tell you what that way is. Your expected to guess. If you guess right, it's an A. Guess wrong, and it's a pass. Doesn't seem like there is a love of teaching. I assume she is just there because it's a stable job.

took her class and loved it... i thought that Kira was very helpful and helped me improve my shots immensely... it isn't crazy easy, but if you want an awesome teacher, i disagree with everyone, I say take her class.. atleast for level 1... haven't tried 2 yet. they seriously exaggerated.

LOL whoever rated kira before me took the words right out of my mouth. she is very good at technical teaching, but she has no genuine personality. maybe good for level one, but for level 2 take laura instead(she's more insightful in artistic practice)

She's okay as a teacher, but seems completely false as a person. She will put on a smile but you KNOW that there isn't any warmth and genuinity behind it. That's the type of personality that makes me feel uneasy.
