Comment:
Lectures are a little disorganized, but the math is not difficult for this class. Problem sets (about 4 of them math-based and 1 about a reading) were fair and not hard. Exams were the same way. No final. 2 reports on trade disputes and then a group presentation.

Comment:
Maria is truly a nice lady trying her best. However, she is not very clear and 464 is HEAVY on econ theory and not all of it is in the book. Her notes aren't great and lectures are dry, lots of problem sets. She is accommodating and will try to help you but if you are not good with math/graphs I would not recommend.

Comment:
Professor Muniagurria covers really applicable material in 464. She does a good job focusing the course on specific models which at the end of the course is applied to the real world via a project/paper. This class made me seriously consider grad school in International Macroeconomics. I would highly recommend her class.

Maria is a very sweet lady who genuinely wants you to succeed. However, there is very little structure to the class and you really never see your grade. She handwrites all notes with no outline and rarely teaches to the book. One of the good things is that she does do a little bit of policy, but it is still mostly theory and graphs on tests.

She uses made up symbols in math problems. Go to class, sit on your phone for the attendance credit then read the book.

Comment:
Maria teaches this class in a way that you somehow end up learning virtually nothing in the course of a semester. The content is just the addition and substitution of different variables into the Solow Model. Her lectures are incredibly boring, as she makes you take notes the entire period with no pause for explanation. Would not recommend.

Comment:
Shes nice enough, but I recommend you never take a class with her. I completed every test well above the class average and still got a B in the class. Her curve is ridiculously bad and she seems to not want students to succeed.

Maria really cares about students, and this shows in her willingness to answer questions and meet with students outside of class. Sometimes the course material can be difficult to follow, only because the class is notation heavy. Study hard in the beginning and the rest of the class will fall into place!

Maria is a caring and amazing professor. Her notes are by hang and not power point so it is way easier to see and follow her steps. Classes are a bit boring and no one shows up to them. Exams are easy.

She is a very caring person and you can learn a lot from her if you can communicate what you don't understand. Her accent and quiet voice make lectures difficult to follow but the notes are pretty straightforward and her tests are literally the lecture notes. Her practice tests are also very similar to the midterms/final.

Starts out disorganized, but afterwards comes together well. Maria cares, and does everything necessary to prepare everyone for exams--there's no reason you can't ace them with a reasonable amount of studying. There's one paper: lot of work, but interesting. You'll need to good at writing proofs (she'll help you learn). Overall good professor.

I loved Maria's Industrial Organization course! Although I did find it slightly challenging, the experience of learning from her was worth it. Her notes are written on paper, which may be hard to follow, but if you review them after class and organize them so they make sense to you they'll make a lot more sense. Exams were a little tough but fair.

Although her notes are sometimes a bit hard to read, lectures are generally easy to follow and she tries her best to include interesting stuff about development econ theory. Tests are hard if you don't have a solid understanding of calc, but all the derivations that you need for the test are in her lecture notes.

Comment:
Her lectures were unclear sometimes, and her notes were not really useful. She usually referred to the texts from which the material came, which is where I learned most of the material. The two midterms were very similar to previous midterms; the final had a few curve balls but nothing terrifying. Overall a solid course and a solid instructor.

She is nice lady, but this class was not by any means easy. Fairly basic materials for an advanced level class yet exams are written so poorly that you have to have everything down to do well. As the semester progressed lectures seemed more and more pointless. All notes are posted online, and discussion is when you actually learn anything.

Econ 467 is one of the best econ class ever. Exams are super easy, but make sure you've done your readings and homeworks.

Probably my second favorite Econ professor. She was always prepared and you knew what you would be tested on for an exam. Pretty basic calc stuff and you def have a shot at getting an A w/all the extra credit. Took her for Econ 467
