Mark is one of the BEST teachers in the country and can teach anyone willing to learn. He ALWAYS finds the one thing that will change your world. He can teach classical, jazz, and everything in between. Huge focus on the music, although he teaches the instrument as well. Always brings in artists to play and learn from. Highly recommend him and PSU!

A remarkably passionate musician and teacher. A caring friend and wise mentor. Mark changed my life as a musician in many ways. Don't play trombone at him though, he hates that.

Great professor, the reason why I chose Penn State as a music major. His analogies can be a bit confusing but he's always willing to help you out whenever.

Mark is an amazing musician who conveys his love of music to his students. At times he is too busy, but cares about the success of his students and has prominent alumni. He won't tell you how to play things, but help you discover the best way for you. His best attribute is making you think. I recommend Mark and the PSU trombone studio highly.

A really great musician but not so inspiring a teacher. I liked him personally but got more out of my ensembles than from working with him. LOVE his family!!!

Lack of versatility in teaching style limits his success with students. More interested in having his students be with his family than seeing them become individuals.

This man knows so much about music. Trombone choir is amazing. Although sometimes I feel about 2' tall after a lesson...
