A great professor. Is available anytime when you need him. Extremely flexible. Recommend to do homework and be sure to read textbooks before classes. Pay attention closely to the lectures and you will pass the class. Provide a lot of help for students.

Amazing teacher, really smart. His lectures are fast paced, but in a good way. He's responsive via email, and available after hours in his office (very helpful). He knows his stuff and will make sure you understand what he's teaching if you're unclear. Doesn't curve, but he gave the class very generous extra credit on when a midterm average was 50

I really enjoyed Markos. He's a funny guy and occasionally went off into some real-world tangents involving stats (election and sports mainly) which was always interesting. Lectures can drone on at times and some times his explanations for proofs are a bit unclear, but ask if you're lost and he will clear it up. He hates it if you come late also

Not too bad. But I wouldn't recommend taking STAT515 with Markos. His lecture is very fast-paced and not clear. He is rude at his students too.

Markos is a very intelligent guy, but he expects way too much from his students. He is the most arrogant and impolite professor I have ever met. I don't think he even cares whether his students pass or not. His lectures are very fast-paced and his explanations are vague which makes it harder to learn the material. Get ready to learn on your own.

He is the worst professor I've ever met in UMass. Very rude and arrogant at students, never willing to help any students. His explanation and office hours are very inefficient as well. AVOID HIM

I took 331 diffy Q with this dude and he was actually pretty good. He explained the concepts really well so just go to class and you should be set. You have to be smart to like him though. If you struggle with math at all you won't do well with him. Also, don't go to his office hours as they are not helpful. Go Go U Go Umass GO UMASS!

This guy shouldn't be a teacher. Not only is he a bad teacher who rarely explains anything clearly, he is rude to his students and clearly does not care whether or not his students pass. Makes things way harder than they need to be. I truthfully hate this man. If you want to have a terrible math experience, take Math 331 with Markos Katsoulakis.

Hard, but fair. You have to know your stuff, but if you do it's not too bad. He hits the golden spot on HW - just hard enough that you solidify your knowledge, without busy work. Same with tests - questions are hard and will test your knowledge, but are entirely reasonable questions, and very pertinent to in-class material. Awesome teacher.

Terrible! Just terrible! You cannot possibly be this terrible at your job. Avoid this class unless you're ready to teach yourself everything. If you still end up taking it with him, which i highly disapprove just make sure you know how to draw every graph(in class notes) for the midterm.Good luck! you will need it.

His class wasn't very difficult but the way he taught the material wasn't very clear. That and he's not very helpful when you go for one on one help.I didnt think the tests were that easy but he does seem to be an easy grader.DONT BUY THE TEXTBOX,WE DIDNT USE IT ONCE IN CLASS.

Online hw is too easy and he does not assign enough practice problems. Be sure to look at other professor's written homework to get extra practice. YOU DO NOT NEED THE BOOK! You will only use it for reference which you can just use the internet for. Lectures are cool because he shows a lot of applications but he's not very clear IMO.

Markos was not always easy to understand in class, but always kept it light. He made jokes and tried to have fun in lectures. Class was boring and at times confusing, but the tests were always pretty easy.

All those who didn't like him are clearly mathematically incompetent. The man was a genius professor but wasn't going to spend time making sure the slow kids could figure out the algebra.
