Comment:

Sakamaki-san is one of those professors that truly care about her students, if you are struggling she will always be there to help you as long as you reach out. She is extremely passionate about what she does and that reflects on her students. She makes learning a second language fun and engaging, one of the best professors I've ever had!

I took her for JPN 1-2 from the past 7 years, been self-studying on and off when I didnt get the chance to take JPN 3 from her a few years ago until Spring '17. Shes a very helpful and amazing professor who cares for her students, she makes learning JPN fun. Very inspiring and Ive learned so much from her. Hope she'll offer JPN4 in the future.

Comment:

Out of all my teachers for my first semester SHE WAS THE BEST ONE!!! Seriously every moment in her class was so much fun. Learning the language can be a bit hard at times but she makes sure you don't fall behind and will help you until you get it right. She's funny and very caring, the only way to fail her class is if you try.

I really loved this class and most of that is because shes a really good teacher. In JAPN 2 and 3 the class gets pretty difficult but she will help you out one on one if needed. She actually cares about her students and will go the extra mile to help out. I would highly recommend taking her classes :)

Comment:

Sakamaki-san is a really great teacher and she's a joy to be around. As long as you pay attention to her (important), do the homework, and study a bit you can pass easily. However, it is a demanding class because you're learning a second language so I wouldn't take her class with any other demanding classes such as English or Public Speaking.

She helps you when you don't understand. Cares about her students. Focus more on speaking and being about to read. Super easy class. Took her for all 3 Japanese classes. Not difficult to learn it at all. Extra credit. Conversion every week. Culture presentation. Midterm interview & exam. (its easier than you think, she goes over the slides.) Final.

The class was pretty easy but make sure you take notes and revise them a lot this class kinda needs to be your number priority to get a really good grade and need to remember a lot of conversations. Miss a couple of assignments you grade could drop a lot. Participation matters a lot you can't be afraid to speak in front of people.

Comment:

One of the best teachers I've ever had. Tells stories about her experiences in learning English, which are very helpful and fun to listen to. I wish she would teach Japanese 2, as it was her class that gave me the confidence to even register for it. If you show up and pay attention, you are almost guaranteed to do well and have a good time.

ENSL 70 Miss Yuri is the best teacher. She treats students like a friend. Always there to explain when you don't understand. Knows all of her students weaknesses in writing. She is Japanese but shes very good in English. I wish she would teach more English subjects. I would work around my schedule just to get in her class.

she is very nice teacher, she is easy and her class is funny and flexible. however, she takes care of the attendance. and honestly I feel like I want to repeat the class again. she treat the students as friend and she always ask for personal experiences when you right. Ms.Sakamaki was quite frankly one of my teachers I've ever had. She was a very considerate person and tried to understand as much as she could about me and my disability which requires that I use a wheelchair. Overall, a very enjoyable ENSL class and a person very dedicated to her job as a teacher. I recommend this teacher to anyone!

She is amazing! I'm so glad I took her for Japan 1. I took the night class and it wasnt bad at all because she makes class so much fun. She is patient and has interesting ways of teaching. She posts grades almost immediately. Offers tons of extra credit. Plays games (for learning's sake) and gives out treats for the winners. Passed class w/ an 98%.

Friendly teacher, great class over all. She laughs at jokes and is willing to dish them out back while still getting class done. Makes it very fun even though it's difficult. Great teacher overall. Works with those who have time issues due to work, kids and illness'.
