Took her again for 320W. She's the best Econ prof at this school by far. She's a good teacher, fair with grading (but gives zero leeway from her syllabus), & is fairly straightforward to get a good grade in the class. Don't fall behind in her class because you won't be able to catch up or it'll be a mountain of work if you do. Have taken her again.

Very good person, but not the best teacher. Monotonously follows the slides, which are unrelated to exams. Easy A, but I don't feel that I've got what I paid for. Grade is based on online problem sets (25%); data presentation (10%); paper (15%, 3 pp., about U.S. enterpreneur chosen); midterm and final (25% ea., just study the problem sets).

Professor Cummings was a great teacher! I had her for macroeconomics and had not previously taken micro and she did a good job easing students into the content. She is hilarious! The class was set up so that exams were a large part of your grade but not all, some homework assignments and participation helped a lot to boost your grade.

Does not teach in class. Gives problem sets which do not contain any of the course material. Excessive problem sets. Not accessible. Talks too quietly.

I loved her. She is super smart, super fair and was extremely helpful whenever I had questions. She has high standards, but her class made me a much better economics student and writer.

Professor Cummings is an awesome lady. She definitely knows her stuff and she has you use an online Ez-test for everything. Quizzes every so often but if you study the ez-test the questions are almost always the same. Exams are a bit more difficult but if you study you'll be fine. She's very willing to help and teaches off power points.

I love her! I took her class as my writing intensive requirement, so there was a lot more work than her usual class. She would hold meetings with us to discuss our papers and she was very helpful and approachable. I wanted to work on an outside project and she gave me her cell phone number to call her anytime. She's wonderful. Like a mom.

Professor Cummings is a down to earth woman. Her powerpoints and exam questions come straight from online sources so it isn't hard to get a good grade in her class. She loves to apply her lessons to the real world (as it should be). Overall I had her for 201 and 202 and would love to take her again in the future.

Her ppts are basically the book, you don't need it. She uses online site called eztest where she gets ALL of her exam questions from and some of her quiz from. Quizzes are short answer but mimic eztest. Participation points randomly when you do inclass worksheet, so you have to show up.

She can be unclear at times, but that is a result of dumbing stuff down for everyone. If you're an ECON major, you will fall asleep in class, but it is an easy A - she curves massively.

Comment:
This was not an easy course, but some of the comments here are unjustified. She curved the tests much more than she needed to. The study guides were not extensive, but if you read and understand the book, you should do fine. Don't just rely on the pp slides or class lectures.

Very painful class, all the hours I spent studying were worthless because the midterm and finals were super hard. She rarely applies real life economic concepts to her boring lectures, which are straight from PPT. Very low voice and she sounds nervous.

She covered every chapter, econ formula and graph on the book. Great if you are an Econ major but useless for those who aren't. Midterm and final were very hard and made up 70% of the grade. The study material for the tests were very broad, will need to study/know everything to do well. I will never take and Econ class again, this one scarred me.

she gives hard tests but does curve. goes over slides in class and reads them verbatim. problem sets every week. one presentation. she doesn't specify which information is relevant in the business world and so know that she will cover everything in the book. for exams she won't focus the studying, study everything and best of luck

not sure if this is her first grad level class. she will test you over as much as she possible can. old/traditional teaching method, she is trying to get you the lowest possible grade and you are trying to get the highest. lectures are just going over ppt slides verbatim. you wont learn much, you will just want to pass and move on.

Everyone did horrible the mid term, despite studying for it. she curved and that's how most students got 2 letter grades higher. Final study guide and material was 30 pages and unclear with typos. She teaches class as if everyone is an expert in Economics, I was going to concentrate my major in Economics but after this class I changed my mind.

She's so sweet and petite!!!! I have her once a week and the class can feel kind of long and dry at times, but she's a very clear professor and she is extremely approachable. Very helpful and not difficult. She's also very understanding about anything if you talk to her. The only bad thing about taking her would be that sometimes lectures are dry.

Professor Cummings is absolutely awesome! She teaches macro in a way that is understandable and actually fun. The homework is really easy as she goes over most of the problems in class. The book is not really needed since everything is summarized in the powerpoints. The tests are not hard and she does curve.

VERY boring class, I only attended on test days or days I knew she would be giving answers to the homework. The lectures are all posted online and it is easier to just teach yourself because she is so boring in lecture. Homework is easy, just use the book and you'll be fine.

HORRIBLY BORING. Her lecture was not helpful at all. I only attended classes during test days. Online assignments that feel like high school homework. She might be a smart lady but she doesn't know how to teach.
