I am a senior and a straight-A student, and this is by far the worst teacher I have ever had at KU. If you enjoy being condescended to like a child, cut off mid-sentence during group discussions, and told that all of your opinions are invalid, then you should definitely take a class with this woman. She has published nothing so don't bother looking

she's not a very good teacher. I didn't actually learn anything from her. She requires you to write four papers, has these little mini project that compliments the subject the paper is suppose to be on. She takes attendance everyday. She has accused me of copying & turning in a paper from another class which i didn't and had to prove her wrong

I had her for my first English class at KU and I still talk about how great she was!! I got a D on my first paper but after talking to her she helped me understand what I did wrong and I got As on every paper after that! Just go in to see her, she's a great person and really does want you to do well in her class.

If you can find another teacher for your section, go with them, because you wont get any consistency with this teacher. You never know when she is going to give an A to the worst paper or an F to the best one. I strongly recommend AVOIDING her at all costs.

Worst english teacher I ever had. She was adept at discouraging many students to improve their writing skills. She really didn't care to help students aside from her unclear shotty critique attempts. Always talked about adolescent boys and the only paper I got an A on was my first paper about my childhood which leads me to question some issues...

Mrs. Bunten is an awesome English teacher, because she isn't afraid to cut people down when they do a bad job. She gave me a B on my last paper (exactly what it deserved), and asked me "How does that make you feel?" She's ok with my ridiculous writing and doesn't go overboard with P.C. :)
