Such a cool dude, he goes to work with his shorts and sandals but knows how to explain math in the best way possible. There for you if he needs help, I would definitely take him again. The reason I got a C is because I didn't work as much, but it's a pretty straight forward class

Such a awesome teacher! Answers every question you may have and has office hours before the class period. The notes you take in class sometimes are the exact problems on the test! He is very funny and has a laid back personality. I wish he taught all the other math classes I need!

Towers is a nice guy. One too many tests, and a little strict on the grading, but otherwise that, good professor. Very helpful during office hours and good sense of humor. "Downstairs, you have this function". "Increasing and decreasing land". Those are some samples of his humor. Towers, you are the man!!

Professor Towers is one of my favorite teachers at MiraCosta, he really does want his students to succeed, and you get that vibe right away. His test are pretty much similar to his lecture notes, an are pretty straight forward. If I had to sell my soul to take him for Calc 2 I would, but unfortunately can't since he doesn't. Anyways, take him!!!!!!

Best math teacher I have ever had. He explains everything crystal clear, and test is based solely on his notes. Only thing is his class is curved to where a 92% is an A. I'm looking back now that I'm in Calc II with an awful instructor and wish I had him again.

Good professor but I am worried about the next math- like other raters. I was able to get a good grade but only because of his direct teaching ways. Not sure I will duplicate in higher math. A student was getting a B but didn't know 2 out of 6 trig functions, simplifying, nor meaning of reciprocal. How the B you ask? Towers

Go to class- write notes and study the examples he gives you. Wish I wouldn't have so much on my plate and sure I would've gotten an A with his teaching style.

Like him as a person but not as a prof. would not recommend any of his math courses unless you only need Calc I(to get a good grade) and no other math following. I am planning on taking Calc I again just to make sure I will be fine since I am taking Calc II, III and Linear. Make sure to study his lecture examples and really nothing else

Read the other post on not being prepared for Calc II and I agree. Got an A but- this prof. teaches you how to take his tests more than he teaches Calc. 1 student was also getting an A but seemed she was only able to solve problems from his notes and not other calc Q's, yet other students seemed weren't getting an A. Do hmwk & practice b4 Calc II.

Big on notation and if you have the right problem set up will give max. 1/2 pts. Credit if wrong answer. All his tests are based on notes- seems like people can get away with passing or Acing by knowing his notes and not the actual material. Not the best if you plan on going to a top tier school that gives calc and physics assessments.

A 92%+, B 82+, C72+; if you average a 92 on all exams with a 5% from hmwk you could get a B if you score <90% on final (do the math). He is clear on lectures but I took him for Calc I and then was not fully prepared for Calc II based on the Calc I teaching style. All calc requires lots of time in. I got an A in II and an A in precalc but B here

Good choice for Calculus. Very straight forward teaching style. He teaches you the material and then tests you on exactly what he went over. He gets to every class early to answer questions and you get the impression that he genuinely wants his students to do well.

Very helpful. Have to put the time in for a great grade. Even if you get A on all exams, your final will ultimately determine your grade since it is 15%. and will include the hardest part of the whole course. Homework is 5%
