I am usually good at math, but he made everything I have learned much more confusing. Does not explain examples, can hardly read his handwriting, and is caught off guard when questions are asked and is unable to clearly answer them. I found that asking for help confuses me even more. Unless you are able to teach calculus to yourself, do not take.

Comment:

Great professor. Heavy on Excel use. We don't learn very much, which is nice as a student who's major is unrelated to statistics. The only trouble with this is he seems to love what does, and because many students don't know how to use Excel, he spends a lot of time teaching that rather than statistics. He is helpful and wants you to succeed!!!

Worst professor ever. I've never been one to be good at math, and after taking this class I feel like I'm worse than before. He gets very startled and surprised when you ask questions, and does not know how to answer them. If you are super good at math and do not need to be taught it then this class is for you. Get ready to get a tutor if not.

He's not a great instructor but is good at keeping you on track. If you really want to learn the topic you have to learn it independently and outside of the classroom. His jobs is just to make you do the work and grade it. That's it.

"The numbers Mason! What do the numbers mean?" - Sums up how I felt about statistics prior to taking Dr. Crotzer's class. Dr. C is a great guy, always willing to help and explain things. The class is easy as long as you do your work. Doesn't take attendance so you can skip, but I don't know why you would, he is the Jesus of stats.

Everything you read about this guy is accurate. He has to be in his 70's, retired, and does not have a care in the world. He assigned discussion posts HW's for a Stats class (seriously?), and assigned a take home test due 4 days after our last class ended! No joke. Didn't know how we performed on our 2nd test until the 2nd last day of class. Avoid!

This guy knows his stuff but has no social skills whatsoever. He is the type of guy that will assign homework due the day of an exam. He would often skip through really complex material without explaining anything. He also gave reading assignments which are totally useless. Avoid if you can.

Dr. Crotzer is an adorable old man who just simply loves math and truly wants what is best for his students. Do the homework, use the tutoring center in Old Main for help (they will check over your homework), and study his notes and you will be completely fine :)

An excellent teacher; at the beginning of the course doesn't teach a ton of the material as well as one might like. However if you do the homework assignments and go to class, you pick up the easy material. After you get past the very basics, he meticulously covers all the material and genuinely cares how his students do.

Dr. Crotzer is the best calc teacher at canisius! he takes the time to go through examples in class, and will re-explain if you do not understand. He is always willing to help after class, and is very encouraging. he knows calc is not easy, and wants everyone to do well.

He is a nice guy, but a poor teacher. He makes a lot of mistakes and is too quick in his explanations. I would often ask questions and never got a clear answer. I took this class in high school so I figured it would be easy. This was not the case. I often left class feeling more confused than I was when I got there.

"Easy to get an A if you pay attention." WRONG! I paid attention every single day and copied down everything he wrote on the board. I bombed the tests if I didn't vigorously study at home. He doesn't take into account that not everyone has experience with Calc. Don't take this class with him unless you are already familiar with the material.

Please DO NOT takethis class. I took Calc in high school and did pretty well but he confused me so much! He makes mistakes all the time and is so unclear. He is willing to help you but it probably wont do much for you. Also, he wears black shoes with brown!! That always bothered me alot.
